Any concerns about this off-axis dimming that is referenced in this review?

Over at Reddit this is getting a great deal of attention and creating a lot of debate. I've ordered the phone and I suspect the concerns noted in this video will have little or no significance in real life use.

Just wondering if this is causing anyone to rethink their decision.

Seems incomprehensible that Samsung would move forward with this technology if it was so significantly flawed.

I canceled my pre-order as a result. I can't justify such an expense if it means I gain a gimmick but lose fundamental functionality from the display. I do need to be able to see my display from all angles throughout the day.

Hmm. The problem is... I don't see Samsung moving removing this feature in future models of Ultra. I think I read comments that the anti-reflective coating is not as effective on the S26U compared to S25U?

Are there demo units at Best Buy yet? It'd be something you need to see first hand.

For myself its a not issue....I don't typically look at my phone off-axis. It may take some subtle adjustment in the beginning like getting used to a new pair of glasses but I'm sure I'll be fine.

This video addresses more of the privacy screen. He explains how to use it right and not have degraded image quality

Excellent. My concern had been that even with privacy turned completely off the screen clarity and contrast might be compromised. This clearly doesn't seem to be the case which, of course, is a very good thing.
Thanks for posting.

We'll definitely learn more on this as they start getting in people's hands, but this sounds promising and this guy is usually spot on with things.

This guy seems to be spot on. I think the privacy display is going to be a bigger hit then most think. I'm betting Apple will be introducing there version of it, call it Iprivacy screen. I agree with this guy, if you have the 25 and are not going to trade it on this then it's probably not worth the upgrade. I myself like the idea of privacy screen, hope it works good and they bring it to the fold 8
