I'm thinking of picking one up at best buy since I won't lose any money on the return. Google store I have to eat the shipping. Best buy in the store only stocks the 32gb models but I could order 64 online and return it in store if I don't like it. Do I lose anything by not going through Google?

Got my 128 GB from Best Buy. I did it that way so I could use my PaPal credit. Got it shipped to the store for pick up and got a free $40 Speck case included. The only thing you don't get by using Best Buy is you can not get Nexus Protect, so I got Square Trade from Amazon. For $40 for a three year paln that covers devices upto $600 I think I did good.

I was thinking the one disadvantage is that, if you have an issue, you'll have to deal with Huawei to get it repaired under warranty, unless you purchase a protection plan.

The only advantage right now to best buy is a bonus 50 dollar gift card

Yes, you do. They have a much better warranty system. You get the manufacturer warranty whenever you purchase from a reseller. However, if you purchase it from google and let's say the phone becomes defective within a few months, they will replace the phone free of charge. The warranty lasts a year. If you buy from Best Buy, google will not offer you the replacement program. Google also has the best service.

That's expensive if that's for the one year warranty. I got mine for 89 bucks for a 2 year accidental plan. Did plans go up? Now, Nexus protect is more affordable than ever before.
