I have an iPhone 6, I just today bought a 5X as it was on offer and am thinking about making the jump to the 5X however I am wondering will I regret it? I've been playing around with it for a couple of hours now, it runs fine, no issues so far however I hear it has issues with heat and battery life, I am worried I might regret it,

I sure like my Nexus 5x. I've had no problems. But, I if I'd had an iphone and bought an Android device I'd worry about the rumored hit teams coming out of Cupertino looking for apostates than I would whining and gossip about my Nexis 5x.

Enjoy your Nexus 5x. I'm having fun playing with the Android 7 beta.

DH went from 4s to 5x. He's 75 so a bit of a learning curve, but he likes the phone. It would be different coming from the apple 6, though. The apple devices have more solid builds and much better battery life than most Nexus devices. Resale value on Apple is phenomenal. I'm a nexus user-at least six devices to date-so when I say something about Apple, it's the way I see it. If I needed to replace my N5, I would get the 6p. Son has one. Dad said: too big. If you already like the 5x, stick with it. Other son still has 4s. He's not interested in replacing it.

Was all Android until the iPhone 6s came out. Currently have 6s plus but trying Android with the 5x. Still has same issue that I left Android because of. Battery life goes way down while using. iPhone os doesn't have that problem. I really don't use my phone as a phone so SOT is very important to me. I probably get 6+ hours of SOT on iPhone where I struggle to get 2.5 on Nexus 5x. If Android can ever fix this battery drain I will be back.

You are comparing a 6+ bigger battery to 5x small battery. Not a fair comparison. 6p on the other hand can get you up to 5 hours SOT. Still, not up to par with iPhone, but android OS came a long way in that area.

They're actually almost the same size. The iPhone has 2750 mAh and the nexus has 2700.

I have a 6s that I used side by side with a 5x. The 5x didn't stand much of a chance, the build quality, performance and battery life seemed worlds apart. Maybe iPhone 6 to 5x would be somewhat closer and you won't regret it but I don't think so. 5x is a midrange mediocre phone, id be much happier going from a 6s to a comparable flagship android phone, but would have a bad time switching to a 5x

Don't forget price, which is also worlds apart. Is the iPhone $400 better?

I just went from a Galaxy S5 to the Nexus 5X. I couldn't be happier. I also before that went to the S5 from an iPhone 5S. Throughout this time I also used a BlackBerry.

I'm pretty happy with the 5X. More so then the iPhone or any other Android phone this far.

( quick charge is a big plus here as well. )

At first I was bummed because the Nexus 5x didn't have wireless charging but over the months I gradually quit using it anyway. I've used the fast charger once, didn't like the warmth it generated, and charge while I'm asleep now.

I keep the quick charger at work in an air conditioned office for a late in the day top off. But I use a standard charger for overnight charging. Gets me through my 12 he days.

Even though the lag issues have been addressed with recent updates (I think March fixed it for me), you're never going to impress anyone (whether they come from an iPhone or from a high-end Android phone) with the performance on a Nexus 5x. It has mid-range specs. Maybe the camera might impress them or the fingerprint sensor. But the performance overall? No.

I would recommend iPhone users switching to a Nexus should get the Nexus 6p. It's a ginormous phone, but its performance is top-notch.

I had an LG G2 and switched to NExus 5x. Performance is much better, and I am really enjoying the phone on Project Fi (From PagePlus aka Verizon). However, I have an iPhone 6 as a work phone. I perfer android over iOS. The battery is great on the iphone 6, and I have noticed the 5x is another android device that doesn't do as good on battery. Especially if you use it much. I don't know what you guys are doing on it, but average use of web, text, facebook, etc the 5x is easily just as good as the iphone 6. In fact there isn't a massive differnce in day to day use from my LG G2 that was on crDroid (Marshmellow). The 5x is faster on heavier apps and installing, but just surfing and texting it's nearly the same. I just wanted the better camera and project Fi, and off custom roms. I'm sick of hacking my phone to try to get a smoother device. That's why I went Nexus. I also think the camera is better on the 5x vs the 6s.

Just be warned you might get the yellow screen problem on a 5x. I did, and they quickly overnighted a new one. Awesome service!

Im very surprised at your Android issue. Im the only one of a group of friends that have an android. Its the galaxy S7 edge. All the rest have newer iphones. Im the only one that doesn't have to carry a charging cord around. Im a moderate to heavy user too, but at bedtime (around 10:30) i still have around 30% battery left.
