Any good messaging apps?

Does anyone know of any awesome messaging apps?

I know of the basics like Go! Messaging and chompsms, but I'm looking for something different than those.

Back when it was on the Google play store, Emu messaging was my all time favorite. Since its removal, updates don't work for android so I'm stuck with a very old version.

Do any of you have any apps I should check out?

That depends on exactly what you're looking for. Messaging (the app of that name) works perfectly fine for me.
