Any HTC10 owners getting a Pixel?

Just curious if anyone has or will be purchasing a Pixel 2 this year? What are your reasons?

I've had the HTC10 since launch, I've been tempted to purchase a new phone in the past but can't let my HTC10 go. This is coming from someone that would previously switch phones every 3 months or so. I see myself with this phone till at least the 2018 Q1 phones start coming out.

I find it hard to justify the price when my 10 is still so fine. If I needed a better camera that could carry some weight, but I don't take many pics. I would like a phone that could wake the assistant from sleep mode tho. I'm guessing the P2 can do that. Not worth $650 out of pocket for that feature tho. Not sure what else could possibly justify the expense. If my 10 takes a sudden dump I'd be all over a new pixel for sure. I shall be checking the user reviews as they begin to roll in and possibly revisit buying one later if a good deal comes along. Could be some holiday deals maybe.
However , I am wondering about that smallish battery in the pixel. I already now usually need to give the 10 a booster shot in the evening. I don't want a brand new phone that can't go all day.

I'll probably get one eventually. The U11 was just too big, and the lack of band 30 really hurt. I do also worry about the battery size, but the Pixel 2 also has an FHD screen. You think we'll notice going from QHD to FHD?

I ordered the 2XL in Black right away. Should be here late next week. I've always been an HTC fan back to the WinMo HTC Touch with 4 other models up to the 10 but I prefer a larger phone after having a Note 5 for a year. Really like the idea of getting OS updates right away. Must be able to root which is not usually a problem with Pixel devices (and HTC for that matter). If by some miracle the rumored HTC U11+ is announced and fits the specs I'm looking for in the next few weeks I may cancel/return. Though I doubt it since there's only been one real rumor so far.

I won't be doing it. Too expensive and it's not even available in my country (almost no countries, to be more precise). I don't get it.

I visted a VZW store last night and I was not impressed with the Pixel 2 (this store did not have the XL version)

I was fully aware about the screen size being 5" but this device felt too small, although I have always preferred smaller phones. In order to read text, I felt a need to hold the phone closer to my eyes and found myself needing to focus harder in order to read text. To me, the Pixel 2 also didn't feel premium enough to warrant the retail price and lacks certain features currently on a HTC10 (SD card, bigger battery, headphone jack)

The camera seemed very good though, but I hardly take pictures. Looks like I will be spending at least another 3-6 months with my HTC10 :) The only real reason I've been looking for a new device is because I've been wanting a phone that has an always-on display for notifications.

My HTC10 still runs great and I will have no issues keeping it for a while longer. Hopefully HTC releases the Oreo update early 2018 to hold me over even longer :)
