I hear LG G5 getting the oreo updates but havent heard for RS988 ones.

They told me that since it has to be carrier approved that it would take longer. Because is unlocked. Given the fact that is going to be used with all carriers

Thanks for update, is there a portal where we can see the LG software update progress device wise. OR any link that will show in progress. Very poor of LG to keep customer in dark.

Theres this site. Not sure if it helps but it has the latest updates directly from LG for this phone. OpenSource Code Distribution

Seems the Rs988 is going to be abandoned by LG. Only the Verizon and T-Mobile models got Oreo. Other carrier versions and unlocked US left at Nougat. You might try LinageOS if you are out of warranty and feel ok with unlocking the boot loader and rooting it. You can get to 8.1 or maybe even Android 9 with one of those Roms.

I'm keeping mine as a backup phone and I just might play with this too. I have put a linageOS ROM on a old Samsung Galaxy tab pro and it work great except for the rear camera. Was able to get the tablet off 4.4.2 up to 7.1
