Any ideas for an alternative/gesture to the old rear fingerprint gesture feature.

For the Samsung 8-9 S Series and Note Series, there is a super valuable feature that makes using such a big phone so easy and with one hand.....rear fingerprint sensor gestures. Swipe down to open the notifications. Swipe down again to expand the notifications or swipe up to close the notifications.

The Note 10 loses this and the top of the screen extends even further without the bezels. The loss of this feature is making the decision to upgrade to a Note 10 tough.

Does anyone know of an alternative way/gesture to this feature the previous generation Samsung's had?

Figured I'd ask the people that lost the feature first on the S10.

You have an easier way now (and it's on the S10, too): screen gestures. You can still swipe up/down on the screen to get your notification shade controlled.

Maybe you should... You know... Tell him HOW to do it lol.

When an app is open? You can swipe down within the app to co trip gestures. I'm not aware of this.

Ah, nope. It's only from the homescreen. I guess they could (since this is an 'ideas' post) do the same from the virtual home button, but pretty sure that would have to disable the Samsung Pay quick access shortcut.

There are 3rd party apps that let you assign gestures (not sure if they require root, though) to button presses, so maybe you can create those from the volume buttons (not sure if you can with the power one since that's already assigned to camera and Bixby).

You can use the Samsung app "One Hand Operation +" to create a gesture you can use from any screen.

Seriously, Good Lock (and family) is the best 'unknown' feature of the new Galaxy phones. They should just bundle it now, it's awesome.

Edge Gestures from the store. Paid app, but only $2.50 and worth it. Recommened by someone on S10 subreddit. They work from anywhere and in all apps. I only use the left side Gestures, but have them setup as shown below.

Slide down - notifications
Slide up - show recent / running apps
Single tap - home screen

There is also a mini menu called the pie menu where you can puts apps and actions into a flyout menu.
