If so, what is the major differences? Played around with the Vivid at the store but didnt see anything to make me hurry up and upgrade. I am not rooted and i am still somewhat new to android. I would like a front facing camera, but its not a deal breaker for me. Is the battery better than the Inspire? Any input is appreciated

I find the battery better on the Vivid. I had the inspire for almost a month and then switched to the atrix because of the battery.

What else do u like about the Vivid? Is the led notification the same colors as the Inspire?

I think the major changes/differences are:

- 1080p (full HD) video vs. 720p HD with the Inspire
- better camera aperture setting
- dual core processor
- bigger, HD screen
- front facing camera

I just checked it out at an AT&T kiosk last nite. I'd love to have full HD video capability, but the other things I can live without. The updated Sense is very snappy & I like the animations too.

For the price, I'll just hang on to my Inspire for awhile. Especially since I just rooted this morning & will probably flash a custom ROM at some point.

You forgot LTE. That was the biggest difference for me and why I upgraded.

I was running cyanogenmod on my inspire and so far the vivid seems more stable.

Ok. I am scared to root.

Don't be. It is a very straight forward and easy process. Rooted my Inspire during Thanksgiving. Process was smooth and took a total of around 6-8 minutes. Just read the manual several times and you'll understand everything.

I just switched and am happy with the Vivid so far. My only complaints would be lack of accessories and they left out the HTC flash light app (something small but was my favorite one and use on lockscreen).
I like Sense 3.0 and how snappy the phone responds. My Inspire got to where it was randomly rebooting, locking up, silencing the ringer, the proximity sensor was messing up, etc.

I have been wanting the Vivid since it started leaking online as the Holiday. Was hoping to hear about new phones at CES but, NOTHING I want on AT&T. I love HTC and would recommend this to anyone who had moderately sized hands. If you can't comfortably hold the Inspire, don't even think about getting the Vivid.

Oh The Vivid is great! I had the inspire and switched to the vivid for the LTE network. I have found the vivid to be much faster all around including the download speeds even when i am not within a LTE network.
I Rooted my Vivid last week however I have not talked with anyone else who has and it seems that I can forget about wirelesss hot spot untill someone can come up with a fix for the dredded "please dial 611 if you wish to tether this device" warning. For that matter There is no known working wireless tether APP that works with the Vivid yet as far as I know. I have tried both Wireless android tether and Barnacle tether for android. I am also working on trying to change the color of the font so that I can turn down the screen and read with a green --font. Good luck, Gary
----I love to hack my Vivid and know just enough to get into trouble--
