If you run animations at the default settings will it lag?
I think animations if they work right give the the software a more fluid and smooth feeling like the iPhone..do you find that's not the case?
As snappy as a Nexus 6 tho??
I'm someone else who is not seeing any lag to speak of, with one exception, and that is going to/from the facebook magazine to the left of the home screen. It was quite balky the first day but seems better today. And, I have an iPhone 6+, so know exactly how good it is. I still see very rare pauses and such, but it is excellent overall. My S6 edge has no more lag than that does.
Surprisingly, yes, I am noticing some lag on my S6 edge. Mostly during screen transitions or pulling down menus but sometimes even the keyboard popping up has a delay (and I'm using the default Samsung keyboard.) I noted these things in my review over in the edge sub-forum if you want to see any other issues I've uncovered. I've had my edge since Monday.
Hoping Samsung can issue some quick fixes for this. No reason for any lag at all given the premium specifications.
Yeah I disabled that Flipboard screen -- drove me nuts.
IPhone 6 Plus has absilutely zero stutter and instant screen responsiveness. After being out of the Android world for a bit, my expectation was that they were on par with Apple on this but from my S6 experience so far, it's not even close.
This is the truth. For the people who claim iPhone has zero lag/stutter, a quick Google search will show otherwise. No phone is perfect all of the time.
the biggest problem i have is with the ****ty browser performance. the amount of redrawing it does is totally bizarre for a phone with such high specs. whats the point of 3 gb of ram and 8 cores when you can't even scroll up or down without pages having to redraw?
i'm waiting for anyone here with a carrier/ota update to see if this has been addressed. i haven't seen one review mention this which leads me to really question how in-depth they really went because the redrawing issue has happened on two separate s6 devices i've tested myself.
i thought i was going to jump from my iphone 5 to the s6 but now im not so sure. may just keep waiting for the iphone 6s.
I played with one in a store.
It still lags, but not as much as before.
Note that it was loaded with a crapload of apps and media, so it's bound to have lag.
The quick-launch camera feature was stutter-free however. Insta-launch. Great feature.

Spoke to JR Raphael from Computerworld. He used Chrome the whole time, but noticed no redraw on an updated S6. That could mean it's been fixed.

Not fixed on my S6 edge...very laggy browser performance because of the re-drawing but also affects Facebook, Twitter and other apps. Scrolling on the S6 has very little momentum is the best way I can describe it...it scrolls a bit then stutters and stalls (obviously waiting for the re-draw).
Completely opposite of the experience of my iPhone 6 Plus which I used before this which had utterly brilliant scrolling momentum, like glass. Hoping there's a quick software update that fixes this. I can't imagine anybody but early adopters putting up with this because you really notice it in day to day use.
