I just realized that the Nexus 6 launch phrase can be anything. I trained mine to "OK Nexus" and it works like a charm.

This was a major issue some had with this phone compared to the Moto X, but it works just fine.

I'm guessing that setting is in the Google search voice settings area somewhere?

Android Central App
LG G3

Yes! Go to the Google Now settings (three horizontal dashes in the upper lift corner of the Now screen), hit "Settings", then "Voice", then "OK Google Detection", then "Train" or "Retrain" Voice model. Do it and you're done :-)

It is odd of Google to not make this part of the setup process. Apple does it with the (comparatively much less useful) finger print sensor.

Is anybody else having a problem with your Nexus maintaining the custom phrase you set while the screen is on? When my phone's screen was off I'd still be able to say "Hey Nexus" to run commands, but not long after I set it and would try saying it while the screen was on it would only recognize "OK Google", even after multiple times resetting it. Funny enough, I had decided to try a custom phrase because even though I had it trained for my voice for "OK Google", watching a youtube where someday else said that phrase was still able to set off Google Now

Also, I noticed after I switched back from "OK Nexus" to "OK Google" (and after I got the Google Play Services update yesterday?) my phone stopped recognizing my "OK Google"'s outside of when Google Now was open, even if the screen was on. I tried a few times to delete the voice model it had and do it again, with no results, but after I tried one more time deleting the voice training, doing it again, and restarting the phone, everything is back to normal and works fine. Thought I should mention in case anybody else had run into the same problem.

I got my N6 today, I got it to recongnize "Hey Lydia" as its launch phrase, it also responds when I say that if the screen is locked. I hope it doesn't cause it to bug out, I like having a custom launch phrase

Hmm this is interesting. Maybe a bug, or an easter egg? So far its still recognizing whatever I want it to be

Yes, it never works when the screen is on.
