Any major differences with the new marshmallow update?

This may have also been true before update but I found it sort of interesting, kinda. When you look at the camera in recent apps, it shows the last thing your camera saw before you turned it off. So if you were gonna take a picture of something you shouldn't with someone else's phone and change your mind at the last second, there may still be a record of it

This was true before too

Yeah WiFi sucks and any page/app opens slooooow

I believe Samsung phones have done this since my Note 2. I'm pretty sure.

I haven't had any WiFi issues so far. I live in an apartment so my WiFi signal is good whatever part I'm in. Otherwise I am enjoying the update a lot, smoother and nicer experience so far

I've noticed that it is terribly slow while on the 2.4GHz band WITH Bluetooth enabled. If I turn BT off and remain on 2.4GHz, speeds are back to normal. While on 5Ghz, BT can be on without any degradation. It is not specific to one 2.4Ghz network either. It happens on any 2.4Ghz network (home, work and friend's). Really odd. I've read some other people having slow WiFi connections post upgrade as well but no mention if the scenario is the same as mine nor a fix.

If you are on 2.4Ghz with BT on, try turning BT off and see if that improves.

My wifi is fine. No issues. The phones is smoother than ever and the ui tweaks are really nice. Was starting to consider a s7, I have since decided the note 5 with the update is still the best phone for me.

I hope this isn't an outlier but, in comparison, before marshmallow by the time I got to 2 hours sot I'd be down to 60% battery remaining. It would almost always be about 20% per 1 hour screen on time.

20%? That sounds excessively high to me. Knowing what I know about the Note 5, the rough estimate would be in the mid/low teens... 12% to 15% per hour... if you're not doing something HW intensive (games, etc). Are you factoring in idle in there? Or is it 100%-two straight hours of screen on-60%?

I think RAM management is far better. I'm not a power user but on lollipop with 5-8 apps open in the background there would be 300-500 mbs of ram available and almost every app would have to refresh if I went back to it. With mm I haven't had any less than 1200 mbs available abs the apps (for the most part) would be right where I left off. Battery isn't great and sot sends to consume more battery now.

That is what I would get on average use, with idle factored in. In the end I'd get 4-5 hours sot which I believe was pretty much average for other users based on what I've seen reported. Except, yesterday I got over 6 hours which is why I think the update improved battery life

The ability to use an ad blocking app in the browser is wonderful. Makes browsing on a smartphone fun again.

This alone, IMHO, makes it one of the better upgrades I've ever downloaded.

Doze does seem to help some with battery drain while idle.

UI changes are subtle but, again IMHO, pretty good.

Selective permissions for apps is nice as well.

Have you tried using the Adblocking app yet? I tried it the other day after the update and seemed like I got spammed. It was Adblock Free for Samsung Internet 4.0 in the Play Store. Don't know if there is another one but I thought that was the one suggested.

Adblock Fast was the one recommended to me by other posters and it seems fine
