Any Note 8 convertors here?

Thanks for the feedback. Note camera is not a slouch either. Ya pixel 2 camera is a tad better but then Note 9 will be coming out in the next few months and will have an even better camera (word on the street is that s9+ is now the best smart phone camera).

So if I am leaving Note 8, there has to be something more. So freaking hard. My Saturday wasted going back and forth between the 2 phones cause both are GREAT.

I SHOULD HAVE NOT BOUGHT THIS PHONE LOL

I agree. The Note takes great pix as well. Putting the photos side by side w/the pixel is when I really see a difference (for the most part). In my experience the Note tends to have more blown out shots when in bright or back lit areas.

I had a note 8 and went to a 2xl, kind of hate to say but I do regret it somewhat. Both has their pros and cons

I'm struggling between deciding if I keep my Note 8 I just got or selling it off for a Pixel 2. I like Samsung's UX and all the features it packs in, I love the screen and how bright it gets. So far I've only touched the S-Pen once and on previous Notes I rarely used it. I don't like the height of the Note or weight. It feels top heavy in the hand and I worry about it breaking while I'm at work (factory job).

The Pixel 2, I like the size, weight, and camera, but I don't like stock Android. It bores me like iOS does. I hate having to download apps to try and get features that are built in to other skins. I also dislike the bezels. I could live with it though for the camera and size though. Such a hard choice lol.

Am with note series since note 2 and love them all and specifically big lover of S-pen. I always wanted to try stock android but am afraid it will bore me in an hour.

I've been using both for 2 days and boy it's hard to pick one over the other. I might just pick the Note 8 just because I think I'm going to miss spen, wireless charging. If it was not for these 2 I might have kept the pixel 2 xl.

What do you miss about the Note 8 Moo that gives you 2nd thoughts?

The fact that it was sturdy, I'm on my 8th pixel 2 xl rma.

Asia (and Apple) must think Americans are too provincial for dual sim devices.

I personally don't know anyone at work or my friends who would need to pay for two carriers. I think most Americans are in that boat.

Well, the two areas where the pixel camera excels are two that make a huge difference in how we see pics... Nothing can touch the Pixel's dynamic range.. it evens out the picture and makes photos look more lifelike, more like how we see the scene with our own eyes.

And second is the processing... HDR+ leaves far less artificial artifacts like halos, little bits that our eyes see because they don't exist in nature. The 2 actually ends up with a little more noise as a result, but fine details and textures are better retained. Our eyes don't sharpen edges, etc..., so the sightly softer images from the Pixel will seem more real.

Sounds like you are a perfect fit for the S9+ you wont lose much from the Pixel line.

Well I'll just consider myself lucky that this is my first phone and everything seems to be A OK

You'll probably be OK lol I'm just cursed.

Could you go phone by phone and list what caused each RMA?

1-bad speakers
2-wrong imei and they forced me to send it back
3- came with a broken screen/detached speaker/discolored speaker
4- got burn in after 3 days from AoD
5 - got the bootloop of death
6 -one the screen and speaker were detaching
7- had burn in out of the box lol and this was a throughly checked refurb.

Wow, and you still have a pixel?? Think I would have jumped ship after the third bad one, you must really like this phone

I'm actually on my 2nd Pixel 2 XL. The first one had a total fingerprint reader failure and Google immediately sent me a replacement.

When I got the second phone, I carefully compared the two side-by-side for "blue shift" and they were absolutely identical. The shift is a mild blue cast that appears at about a 15 degree angle and is only really noticeable on a bright white screen. I never really think about it or look for it. There's just too much that's good about this phone!
