Any one else upset about release?

Now that we know that Skype video works well on even 3G as well as WiFi it really makes the DINC2's FFC worthwhile.The 4" screen is better,IMO, than the original's 3.7" screen. If you don't need or care about LTE it's a great option.

Here is my opinion. I have had my Droid Incredible since May 4th. Best phone I have ever had. As time goes on, all of these Android phones seem to need a stay of execution since all these companies are so quick to phase out THIS great model phone for THAT great model phone. My upgrade doesn't kick in until January. And although the DInc 2 looks great, it just seems like the original DInc (no complaints!) with a bigger screen and some UI enhancements. That isn't enough to entice me into a sale. Plus, IMHO, HTC will probably release at least 2 more phones by upgrade time that might get my attention. Something similar to the Sensation. All HTC's high-end phones physically are looking similar in form factor. But my Droid Incredible is still the top dog to me. All I need is GB.

Agreed. I have a friend that lives in the UK. And the real 4G is over there. She told me that our "4G" is the equivalent of their really fast 3G. But Verizon will get some type of variance of the Sensation, IMHO, by the end of the year. HTC is trying to sell as many high-end phones as possible.

I have the original incredible and I thunk this new version is going to be a very good device. I don't need 4g. This will be well received. I love my incredible.

I have to agree. 4G will not be available in my area for quite awhile. I don't want to pay $250 (thunderbolt) and not be able to use all of its features. The Dinc was a great device and I think the Dinc2 will be great as well!

Not into the 4.3 phones, at least for now.

For a while I looked at what phone I would upgrade to because I loved my Dinc so much. Nothing was making me commit. Finally, dinc2, boom!!
The only thing I ever wanted my current Incredible to have was a FFC and better battery.

That for me is worth it. I'll be paying whatever retail is for this.

Ok, first of all the following is my opinion but I am curious:

Is anyone else pissed by this phone's release? It is a bigger screen version of the current Dinc with global. What was HTC thinking?!

They were working on the Sensation while working on this phone and this is the one they decided on Verizon?

The Sensation is WAY sexier, has 4G, could have been global, Gorilla Glass, qHD screen, AND Dual Core! Why would they decide to release ANOTHER 3G single-core processor phone on Verizon with less storage?

The release seems to be just a simple mid-range phone when there is an entire market of people waiting patiently on the release of a dual-core 4G verizon phone. Why?

Because the Incredible 2 IS a mid-range phone? Its not supposed to be a super-powerful device; its supposed to be the top of the line 3G phone (which it will be) and leave space for the 4G phones.

That, and your first point is totally off-base. The Dinc2 is hugely more powerful than the Dinc, with a bigger screen to boot. It is, in essence a 3G Thunderbolt.
