Perhaps you could detail what "I've tried everything" actually means? We'd hate to suggest actions that you've already attempted.

Took the phone to my local bell mobility to try a new sim card and it was still a no go. I told the sales guy where i bought the phone from off of kijiji, then he checked to see if it wasn't blacklisted on there system and sure enough it was :'( $440 down the drain!

Ouch. No swappa.com for Canada?

Ive never herd of swappa! illl look into it lol thanks

You are welcome! I've had several great experiences with Swappa in selling and buying various phones, and they employ as many seller/buyer protections as possible to keep transactions safe and reliable.

Good luck!

I love it... battery is not ideal but it charges fast!!!! I'm adjusting :)..... i moved over from apple and I'm very happy with my device....

What would you say typical screen on time is?

If you charge your phone to 100%, then take it off charger and use it STEADILY for 30-60min, the battery graph will give you a good estimate of how long you could be using your device (steadily).

When I do that, my battery graph usually indicates approx 5-6 hours. For me, that means surfing, checking email, texting, reading the news, calendaring, ... productivity tasks. No gaming, and also usually no videos either.

I don't get the point of usb 3. Means I'd have to buy all new chargers.

USB-C?

Yeah, PITA mostly. I have come to appreciate not having to see if I have the plug right side up or not however :)

If you have all microUSB cables, you can get these adapters instead of new cables+adapters. $10 for 2 adapters (and they upgraded the specs on these adapters to be USB compliant).

Ya but I have chargers everywhere. Upstairs, downstairs, 2 cars, work, bathrooms, bedrooms too. USB micro cables and chargers are ubiquitous. Just one more hassle. The big charger cable plug (i do not know terminology usb 2?) note 3 never caught on not does it speed downloads to my computer. Fortunately note 3 also takes regular micro plug.

They have to move forward with technology though. The same thing happened when they switched to the micro usb cables. I agree it's annoying but if it charges better/faster or what have you then it will be better in the long run. The cables and adapters will go down in price soon enough.

I too have been using the 5X since November and when I read some of the things said about it, I think I own an entirely different phone. I come from a Nexus 5. Thus far my experience has been excellent. No lag (though my animations are always turned off as they were in the N5), good battery life, good camera. Bugs are very far between and software related. HDR processing is a bit slow sometimes. And that's it.

For me it's impossible to compare this with the 6p given the size difference. Whatever the materials/internals are.
