Hi everyone. I got a Samsung Vibrant when it came out last year, and today I upgraded to the HTC Sensation.

Does anyone have any questions about the device? I (and hopefully other Sensation users) will try to answer them.:D

Not sure, maybe someone can chime in. On my Nexus One, I can choose whether to engage 3g or just have edge (2G). However, on the Sensation, I see no such option. Either data is on or off. What is the trick?

OK, I will throw out a question. I see where to change the notification sound, but not where to mute it. Help!

Go to settings, wireless & networks, mobile networks, & from there you can pick from CDMA only (3/4G), GSM only (EDGE), or CDMA/GSM auto (picking the best connection available.

To mute, I just hit the volume rocker down until it gets to mute. I know there's a widget in the market that allows you to quickly turn it to sound/mute/vibrate but I can't remember what that was called :(.

There is a widget you can add that will let you switch between mute, vibrate, and regular profile.

To add it, go to the personalization screen, then select htc widgets. It is number 42, and called profiles.

Thanks, I noticed that, wasn't sure if there was a more simple method.

I also noticed that 2G/3G toggle widgets do not automatically switch the connection. They just direct you to that menu. Too bad. Stock Android does have it's perks I guess.

I'm glad I read this thread. I was looking for something like that.

contact names on text messages

This is probably answered somewhere else but i just switched from blackberry to HTC and cant seem to find a good answer online. I have all my numbers saved with contact names in my gmail account but whenver someone from my contacts sends me a text, the message shows the contact number instead of contact name so most of the time i cannot tell who is sending me a message. Contact names show up when they call though. help
