Any rumors on a 64gb Moto X (2014) being available anytime soon?

Blackberry Storm

Hehe, I had a BB Storm (v1) too, then moved to HTC Thunderbolt.

Shrunk OS on Storm, rooted and rom'd (unSensed) my Thunderbolt. Looking forward to doing NONE of that to new X, simply use the way it is. If I had no choice but to pick up another HTC, LG, worst case Samsung, I'd have to de-skin it as I have with Thunderbolt.

Fortunately, my weather-named phone days are soon ending :-D

Good lord. I haven't kept a phone for two years since before 2007. On average I keep them for about 3-4 months.

With such a short purchase cycle, does "future-proof" equate to resale price rather than long-term usability to you? Or is it just not a factor?

A quick online chat with Motorola, not that it helps much. There was just "some" indication that a 64GB will come:

[10:51:08 AM] Hi, my name is Milton. How may I help you?
[10:51:54 AM] Me: Will a 64GB version of the new Moto X be offered? If so, when?
[10:54:44 AM] Milton: Oh ok perfect thank you for your interest on our new products
[10:55:29 AM] Milton: To be honest with you we have no updates yet about that information just yet
[10:56:41 AM] Milton: But I suggest that you consult our website from time to time for any updates
[10:57:05 AM] Me: Ok. I may have to go with another phone with bigger or expandable storage then. Just so you know, many others have this same feeling.
[10:59:15 AM] Milton: Oh yes I understand, we just need to wait for it to be available for the 2nd generation Moto X however the 64GB capacity it is available on the Moto X 1st Generation ok
[11:01:27 AM] Me: Yes, i know, but I was only interested in the new one. Hopefully you'll release soon, or I will go elsewhere. Again, this isn't just me if you read tech blogs. If you include 4K video, you should offer bigger storage from the beginning really.
[11:02:50 AM] Milton: Yes I understand and yes hopefully we get it soon and we also get the 64GB available as well.

I may have threatened to leave for another OEM, but I'm still getting this when it launches. I just wanted them to get the message that people may be holding off purchasing if they delay the 64GB, which might result in them going with another phone. I know this guy is basically CS and may not have any info, or can't provide it if he did. Probably won't help much, but I've always felt, if you do or say nothing, nothing will happen.

They'll announce it when they're ready to.

Resale, for me, is affected by keeping original box, unopened accessories, mint condition phone, unlocking and including accessories I purchase. I also try to sell before price drops too low.

"Save the date for Tuesday, 9/16, at 11 a.m. CT: Buy a Moto 360, then build the new Moto X."

What I would not give for Motorola to have one upped Apple on the storage by starting with 32GB, then offering upgrades to 64 and 128. Even if they did charge a whole $100 more for each increase, that would've been worth it.

Same boat here. Also, I think $550 for 32gb is too much. Just saw the M8 32gb for $400 unlocked. Waiting to see what the Nexus 6 looks like (hopefully not bigger than 5.2").

Everyone has a hobby. One of mine is phones. I almost always sell my previous phone after I get a new one. But if I have three at once, that's my deal. I'd hazard a guess that at least a quarter of the people here don't keep phones for two years. So what if I've had over 36 phones since 2008? Not impacting anyone but myself.

Same here. I normally only keep phones for a few months before something new catches my eye. For the most part I manage to sell my old one for very little or no lost.

I keep mine about a year. Back in the day before smart phones, I was buying them off ebay all the time, swapping sims. It's too expensive a hobby these days, but the fact I was still happy with my 2013 Moto X when I bought this year's model says a lot about how great that phone is. I figure if you only keep yours about 3-4 months you must be constantly selling them too, which is really an affordable way to do it. To each their own!

That's mail what I do. I've only lost my investment once. Bricked a G2
