Any way for me to stream videos from my Droid Turbo to my TV?

Specifically, I have Kodi and want to watch movies on my TV. I am VERY stupid when it comes to tech terms, and am hoping that someone can provide me with simple step-by-step instructions on how I can do this - if its even possible? My TV does have HDMI ports, but is probably about 7-8 years old.
