I'm not the biggest fan of the magnifying glass on the bottom of the screen. ..any way of getting rid of it? I accidentally hit it on numerous occasions throughout the day and would love to disable it...is there a way of doing this? Thanks for your help!

I have the same problem I hit the search button at least 2 times a day I have just learned to live with it. Don't think there is a way to disable it on the device but check the market there maybe an app for that.

Since the search is one of the hard keys at the bottom of the phone, I do not see anyway this could be changed right now. I have also hit it by mistake a few times but Google has trained me to use it quite often. I would recomend posting your question on AllDroid.org.

If you were hitting the button every time you did something I could understand the need for disabling, but if it's only a couple times a day is hitting the back button that hard? I mean it takes you right back to what you were doing.

It would be nice if we could program it...I miss a hard 'phone' button. This is still a phone, right?
