Any way to get Google Search to work WITHOUT wifi?

Google Search has a lot of useful commands that should work perfectly fine without wifi--e.g. setting a reminder, requesting to listen to a song, etc. Unfortunately, without wifi I'm just lead to a screen that says, "Can't reach Google at the moment".

I recently decided to use my N7 as my car's GPS/music player, and it'd be super helpful to be able to access those command features offline. If I want to play a song, it'd be nice to just double-tap, and say "Listen to xxx", instead of fumbling around and taking my eyes off the road. Really not that important, but nice to have. Anyone know if this is possible? Are there any apps that could execute basic commands offline?

Good question. I would like to know also. It would work on ICS with the Google voice commands but now that Google now I'd the standard in not sure

This problem is also happening on my LG G3.

Those commands are still processed by Google's servers, not your device, so they still need an internet connection. I look forward to on-device voice processing someday to both fix this problem and speed up processing and response times.
