Getting an S5 via phone insurance as my current S5 has water damage. Any way to tell if the one they send me is refurbished or truly new?

Most likely refurbished one

using SM-G900H KNOX WARRANTY VOID 0X1
I9505 WARRANTY VOID 0X0 in vacation

You can contact the carrier. They will tell you which it is.

Lindsey, who is your current carrier? If you have Sprint, there is a really easy way to find out for yourself. PM me and I can help you out.

Most likely new but why do you care? its a win-win you get a new phone without water damage and they can refurb it :) your phone is used as well :)

Not necessarily. I had to replace my old S4 through insurance and I got a brand new phone in the box.

That's a good point but sometimes people have problems with refurbished units.

Usually yes, but sometimes the original problem may not have been rectified. I went through two refurb Verizon FiOS boxes earlier this year before I got one that actually worked.

Sorry to hear that :( but most of the times they are as good as new :) like apples i mean i got a refurb ip5 1 week ago everything works and is mint :)

Oh definitely. I got a refurb Droid 2 and it was better than the original one I had. It's kind of a roll of the dice. I always assume that electronic items replaced under warranty are going to be replaced by refurbished items.
