Any way to turn off the animation after taking a photo?

Looking around... I don't see how. JMO... but I think the animation holds you from taking back-to-back pictures quickly.

Probably a part of the app, so I bet you'd have to use a different camera app.

Hadn't noticed an appreciable delay. Mine takes photos about as quickly as I can tap the shutter button. If you know you want to shoot several in a row quickly, just do a burst by holding down the shutter button.

EDIT: although I guess you might not be using the shutter button, but the screen tap, in which case, I guess I could see it causing problems. You can turn off the screen tap method, and turn on the shutter button, in the camera app settings.
