I ordered my Pebble Blue 32GB on June 6th - still haven't received any word on when it would be arriving at Best Buy where I ordered it. They seem to know nothing, and won't let me switch to the 16GB version without losing my preorder & my unlimited data with it.

Has anyone heard anything about when these are supposed to be available?

Orderd my blue 32gb s3 on june 24 there aboutt from vz and got it on friday.

Why would any body need a 32gb when you can add a micro sd?

With the 16gb, you have 12gb available out of the box. Not to mention the resell value for the 32gb vs the 16gb version. Why not pay $50 for double size?

I ordered mine much later than you (on the 25th) and recieved it last week, but that was direct from Verizon. Sometime after the 25th, the phone was placed on backorder (not sure if this was for the 32GB or which colors).

I suspect only some BestBuy middle management guy somewhere in the big box Borg cube really knows the answer to your question.

It seems like Verizon may have preferred to fulfill orders directly before supplying third-party retailers. Maybe BestBuy won't get them in stores until when Verizon gets them into their stores?

You should contact BestBuy and ask them - a quick check on Verizon's web page shows a 32gb would ship on the 19th. No reason you shouldn't have yours.

BestBuy isn't always the best place to pre-order stuff.

Thats like asking why anyone would need a 600.00+ smartphone when you can buy a 10.00 flip phone for text/calls and add a 400.00 laptop for browsing.

Maybe because some people want 32 GB? lol

Word is the GS3 doesn't support Apps2SD, so I'd like to have as much storage as possible. I may try to go back to Best Buy tomorrow to ask them again about going to a 16GB again, but last time it didn't work out so well.

I have $60 in BB giftcards already, with another $50 by getting the phone from them, so I figured it'd be better than the "$30 discount" VZW gives, when they also charge an upgrade fee.

Odd. I ordered mine a week after pre orders started and got it Friday before last. They shipped it overnight.

Why would anyone skimp on half the memory to save less than 2% of the total cost of the phone over a 2 year contract?

In any case, I travel a lot and tend to swap mSD cards between tablet and phone for video playback depending on circumstances, having all the stuff I want to keep on the phone actually fit on the phone is worth a couple of extra dollars.

For me personally, just convenience it's easier to manage 1 partition instead of 2 and have to figure out where do you want certain stuff to go when you have a lot of media and when you're dealing with apps where you can't choose where it will save. For instance, some music apps will only save music on your phone but if I want all my music on my SD card for easy transfer later, that's not an option. Just an example.

I ordered my 32 GB blue yesterday and it is supposed to ship Thursday the 19th. My logic was the same as others.....get twice the storage space for $50 bucks! Why not?

Because internal memory is faster, and you can not put apps on the SD card.

So is it true that the 32gb SGIII they just added a 16gb card to i?
No, not true.

You could add a 64gb card to the 32, and have almost 100gb at your disposal!
