Any Word on Rooting?

Any word on how soon we will be able to Root the stock 2.3.3? I know it needs an S-OFF but should take about a month for someone to crack it, shouldnt it??

Has anyone tried GingerBreak
the simple root for gingerbread for almost any android
I have the file seen the video know how to but just worried cause no one has mentioned it on this site or android central or droidlife etc.
Please reply cause im gonna try it real soon.

I think the issue you may run into is getting s-off. The is necessary to get permanent root. I don't think gingerbreak addresses this issue at all. I could be way off since I got s-off and root before the 2.3.3 update came out and haven't really looked into those details.

If you try it please report back as I'm sure others want to know.

There is no exploit to temp root Gingerbread, which is needed to acquire s-off, which is needed to get permanent root

This is answered daily

If a new exploit is found, trust me, it will be plastered all over, no one will hide it

Until then, if you can't wait, get a XTC-clip

Tweeted by jcase a little while ago, Revolutionary Revolutionarycan now root the Incredible 2 2.3. Currently it crashes at downloading CWM, so you still have to flash that and SU manually, but it definitely works!!
