Anybody check out the Pixel and consider switching? Update: Verizon BF sale pricing

Re: Anybody check out the Pixel and consider switching?

I tried out an Honor 8 and hated it. Not sure where the hype comes from with these phones, as I have also tried out a Honor 5x at one point and felt the same way. To me, they feel like cheap garbage. Axon 7 and One Plus 3 feel way better to use imo. Of course, the HTC 10 crushes all of these, but at a higher price point. And damn it if the Pixel isn't starting to pull on me.

At least you tried it. I believe the hype is very much in the package itself. Nothing against any Samsung fans, but I feel like Samsung is expected to make something nice and price it high so that makes it less interesting to me. All of the others, such as Honor, OnePlus and now Google, have shown themselves to make a solid product that has great cameras. Taking Google out of my last statement, also priced nicely too!

Choice is good though, and yeah I know right about the Pixel. I'll probably try one next year. Mostly content with my Honor 8, aside from the size so I'm trying out another phone atm. After this phone, I'm done with phones for the rest of this year.

Pixel is pulling...but I am waiting a bit to see how the Halo, BT and notification issues are addressed. Advantage of not being able to buy until December anyway...LOL!

well overpriced! I ordered HTC 10 for 550 unlocked.

Re: Anybody check out the Pixel and consider switching?

I took a look at one yesterday and wow, what a nice device. Lots of things I like about it and if I were in the market for a new phone that'd be my obvious choice. The one thing I kinda disliked was the single speaker didn't sound very good compared to what I've been accustomed to. But the rest was really sweet. It's lighter than the 10 which was nice and a tad smaller in size and to me that was nice as I'm getting away from the need for a big phone anyway. So, anyone tempted? I am but trying to keep a level head about it, but feeling the pull. Anyone else?

Not one bit. If you swing over the the pixel forum you can read about some of the issues. If I'm not mistaken the 7.1 software is still in a beta form seeing as how it won't be officially released till December if I read correctly.

To me it's just Google's copy of the iPhone. It looks just like one on almost every level. To make a premium phone to take on the iPhone you think they would have at least added water resistance past ip-53. Apple at least finally figured that out. The lack of SD card expansion is also a huge hit for me. For me I hate on screen buttons so so so much.

When did T-Mobile start carrying the pixel?

Actually as much as I kind of wanted to try this phone, being made by HTC and all, I'm thinking the 2 year commitment to get the full amount of cash back is to long and the next pixel will be looking better and hopefully done better as far as design and some other things like maybe dual speakers that we HTC fans have become accustomed to. Probably take a pass on this deal. Anyone else more enticed by it?
