Anybody concerned about phone prices jumping up from the trade war?

I purchased 2 Moto phones, a G6 and a Moto Z3 play (including cases), for less than the price of one Pixel 3a, because I wanted a couple extra phones around with fresh batteries in case the trade war drives the price of phones substantially up. I didn't really want to buy them, but my wife's windows phone is losing the ability to meet her needs because of lack of app support (the story of windows mobile :O ), and just having my Moto X Pure as the only other spare phone between us that took a nano SIM card was making me slightly nervous.

Anybody else concerned about phone prices going up substantially, and have any of you stocked up on phones for the Apocalypse? LoL (now is when you phone hoarders get to laugh at the rest of us :-D ).

When the main players all came out with 1k+ phones recently, that is the price jump on steroids.

Why are phones getting more expensive, they are saying it is because phone are more like computers but that's not really a good reason especially when they are cutting features like 3.5mm jack. Have you ever bought a laptop without a 3.5mm jack?

I saw a headline saying Google was moving Pixel 4 production to Vietnam to skirt the tariffs placed on China.

Thanks for posting Morty, you're such a sweet, positive lady... we're lucky to have you here in the forums :-D I started the thread because I'm worried that our phones/toys are going to jump way up in price and stay there, and wanted some feedback from others. I'm getting the impression I'm probably over thinking it a bit (which I can do sometimes lol) and hearing from all the great folks here so far has helped a lot

The phone mfg just comes out with a few new things to their phones.

Don't think that makes them work 800 to 1100.

Too much wasted money.

Thank you so much, that's nice to say! I don't think you're overthinking it - prices in general are hiking and it's natural to be concerned! I too think phone prices are going up but I just choose to either save my money a bit more or wait for sales!

I'm probably going to wait for Black Friday sales to get my new phone. Labour Day sales just weren't cutting it for me!
