On another note, I can't help but think issues people have are placebo due to an update. It would be amusing if Google released an update which had no changes but bumped up the version to 4.4.4 whether users would report such issues after updating

The buttons used to check for updates are placebos. The phone will check on it's own once a day...there is no way to force it to check more often. The button does not even bother asking anyone...when you click it, it will just change the time to whatever the current time is. The button lies.

Yeah, I figured that it was just changing the time, I figured it's probably more a frustration generator than a placebo, programmers get to torture people too.

Do not need to be rooted or unlocked to sideload official updates. But it will definitely wipe your data. And you will need to do it via fastboot from a PC.

That wiping and rebuilding is the kicker for me. I don't have the time to do a full restore given the way my phone is setup (I don't use many cloud services and I haven't managed to build out my personal cloud infrastructure yet).

Looks like I wait a bit longer to see if it comes, but likely after another week and no word I'll have to ping google.

Got the notification this afternoon. T-Mobile in FL. My wife's Nexus 4 updated on Friday.

Now i gotta figure out how to get root again. I'm gettin too old for this ****....

Yes got update for my unlocked nexus 5 from India....

But friends after updation my Google play got stopped again and again it displaying that message and I can't even open Google play.any body facing this problem how to fix this....

Finally got the update for my Nexus 5 and 10 yesterday. Everything works perfectly well. Thus far, I've had no issues with search or battery life.

Haven't received it on my nexus 5 yet (brought direct from Google Play, ordered 2 mins after launch, not tied to any network) but have got it on Nexus 10. Weird, huh?

No Android 4.4.3 here for me either on my Nexus 5. Purchased from Google Play Store and using the Straight-talk network. Don't know if that makes any difference. In the mean time I must have gotten every other APP update there is...lol

Just got 4.4.3 for my Nexus 5 and Nexus 10. Both got the OTA at 2:10 PM Central Time. No noticeable difference except the new dialer.

I was in the middle of sideloading 4.4.3 but had to back out to make a call. Lo and behold, the OTA update appears (3:25pm CST or so). So, needless to say I scrapped sideloading it.

Just got my 4.4.3 update on AT&T. I've been experiencing extremely fast battery drain and phone running hot. From what I read at the top of the thread, this may not solve my problems , and maybe make it worse.

Just got the notice to download on my n5, running on T-Mo. But damn it's REALLY slow to download. Fingers crossed it all works out okay in the long run.
