I'm rooted now so that isn't an impediment but no luck finding an app to make speaker louder. It was never loud enough for me but since gb it just doesn't cut it.

My primary concern is missing phone calls, texts, and emails in noisy places. I like using music as a notifier so it will have to boost the volume of media. I don't really need more.volume during a phone call because I usually go to speaker phone option.

I did see a couple of apps that claim to work with cm7 or samsung gs2 but none for stock rooted or bamf (which I am).

I use Equalizer to improve sound while listening to podcasts. It might help with what you need.

Do you use bamf? The developer only claims it works well with cm7 in the product description in the market.

Oh, I didn't think any of them worked on stock roms.

I really could care less about quality actually its decibels I crave. Is the sound discernably louder?

If I slide all the settings to max it increases the sound. I don't know if it works with ringtones. I believe it does because I have Rocky Top for my ringtone and if I forget to reset the settings to normal it seems a lot louder to me. Hope this helps.

Sounds good. I already emailed the developer so I'll wait just to be sure he doesn't know that it crashes my rom. I doubt that it will but got bamf working so nicely I'd hate to ruin it.

When you hear back could you post the response? I'm thinking about rooting if I can continue to use the Verizon hotspot app.

That's good enough for me! How do you like cm7? Still no My Verizon for it right?

Equalizerworks fine with BAMF. Ran it before CM7

I have ran it on all BAMF roms without any issues, I'm using BAMF Forever 1.0.7 now with it..

BAMF Forever has stock mobile hotspot working flawless also there is a number of Stock build roms that Hotspot isnt effected but if you root I would install a rom, even if its just a custom stock rom.... This will stop any updates being pushed over a rooted device and you have issues.

Far faster than bamf, and built in overclock is nice. Currently overclocked to 1405mhz and it is stable. CM7 also fully utilizes the notification light (orange) and the light doesn't time out like sense based rom's. That alone is enough for me.

Can't say about my Verizon app since I have a total unlimited plan and don't use it.

I have unlimited too but I know you need my verizon to get nfl live free. I get vzw vvm too so not sure if that works on cm7. I'm very anxious to try an aosp rom but I read scary stories about cm7 taking 15 minutes to load or people getting stuck on the htc screen or splash screen. If I ever see consistant reports of stability I would love to try it.

Ever have problems making phone calls or sending texts? That's another bug I've read about.

I am using version 14 from this thread.

As far as my Verizon, I just tested it and it does not work. I would try vm for you, but I use Google voice and don't want to split that off. Google voice is far better than Verizon vm except you must have a data connection (3g or 4g or wifi) to use it.

Now for ROM stability. Phone calls and texts are rock solid. Connection seems better than stock or BAMF for both. Text allows a black on black background, which is nice. Phone calls are crisp and clear, better than stock or BAMF.

As far as other stability, no major issues. Google music occasionly gives a single click during playback, but not a big deal.

Since this started as an equalizer thread, I will say the built in DSP equalizer is the best I have used, rivaling voodoo sound.

No other stability issues I have found except the random force close here and there, but no more often than on BAMF. On a positive note, the market rarely force closes on this ROM.

One drawback to this version is that the default launcher is ADW free. I like it and find it very stable as a launcher, but it is not the AOSP launcher.

All in all I say give it a whirl. Make a nandroid backup first and if you don't like it you can go back.

Sent from my CM7 Thunderbolt, AOSP.

Thanks for the tips on the equalizer and the cm7. Sounds like a good weekend project to try. Too bad they don't use the aosp launcher.
