Anybody received 8.1 Preview 2 yet?

View attachment 274615. imIt failed the safety net test and the cts profile has failed. This means Android Pay will not work with it. So I guess I will be downgrading my phone until the official update comes out. A fun day ahead of reinstalling my phone. I know it is a beta but this is quite a significant issue.

I installed that app just to try it and get the same error.....not sure what cts is or if it's related to Android Pay. I'll try out Android Pay when I get close to work and let you know but like I said it loads fine.

I loaded Pay based on your post and pops up normal. Haven't actually used it. When do you get the error?
When I used it in a shop. It came up with the error about not be valid. So I downloaded the safety net app and it showed the CTS had failed. According to the release notes it is CTS compliant and should run Android Pay. I lodged a feedback on the preview page with a screenshot. Rebooted my phone and ran safety net again. Same problem. So I will either have to try a factory reset or downgrade back to 8.0

CTS is a check android makes to validate the device for Android Pay. I had a Chinese phone and they are rarely able to use Android Pay. I learned about CTS and safety net then. So as soon as I got the error I downloaded safety net and ran it. The preview release notes say the following "Android 8.1 beta 2 is Compatibility Test Suite (CTS) approved on all devices. Apps that depend on CTS approved builds should work normally on these devices (Android Pay for example)."

It's working as I indicated in your thread on this topic. I have the CTS error but that doesn't seem to interfere.

I am in the same boat. I will wait a couple days and see if they fix it first before downgrading.

Got all updated and I found one of my apps that instantly crashes. It's a small bank and while the main banking app works fine, their wallet app (notifies of purchases and lets you lock / unlock cards ect) instantly crashes on boot and on every subsequent attempt to load. The bank is BBVA Compass.

I do understand it's an app the bank needs to fix / update so I am not blaming Google.

It might be that you have an unlocked bootloader

My update installed earlier this morning and everything seems to work fine. I actually love the Saturated option. Maybe because I'm primarily a Samsung user. :p I can't wait to see how much better the camera performs.

I would expect most coming from Samsung to favour saturated. Nothing wrong with that....great to have options.

I really, really, really hope there are some bluetooth fixes in this. I was going to return my Pixel 2 today but didn't make it to the store in time. The Pixel 2 stops playing audio when going to another track (although the phone still continues to play with no audio) and I have to keep hitting play on the car to start up audio again. There are multiple complaints regarding bluetooth on the Google forums.

I have 2 more days in my return period. I hope something changed because I love the camera. If not...back to the 8+ for me.

Bluetooth seems to be fixed from the Google Assistant perspective. The sound now works through your Bluetooth connected headphones. I'm so glad to have this working again.

Got it this morning, after turning on the extra processor(Visual core soc) in dev options(Dev options/Camera HAL HDR+) hdr+ is almost instant, it finishes up as you go to look at pic...was fast before, now much faster. I was hoping it would be instant...Took a view outdoor pics this morn.

I do not like saturated so left it on natural.

I like the sticker's in messages...

So developer options camera this is completely new with the 8.1? I don't recall seeing any camera options in 8.0 developer settings

Update went Ok. It seems that the rotation tile disappeared from the shade. I had to go to settings to turn rotation back on. Not sure what that is about.

Edit
Now I see the tile back in the shade. Twilight Zone. But I did have to manually turn it back on from settings this morning after the update.
