Is it not under the Samsung app storeMy anyone here gotten Samsung Messages loaded without using APK?
Don't look like it does RCS, a must have for me. I would do back to Apple if RCS goes away vfrom the play store:

Messages Text SMS - Apps on Google Play
Smart, secure SMS app to replace default. Themes, backup, scheduled and More.play.google.com
smart switch: android 2 android, all samsung messages will xfer, not so much with other message plans!!Don't look like it does RCS, a must have for me. I would do back to Apple if RCS goes away v
Some people are saying it's not there for ATTIs it not under the Samsung app store
This here.Unlocked and carrier versions of Samsung messages have RCS but no emojis reaction with apple like Google messages.
Wife and I use Google Messages so we can text from our browsers. Makes it nice when working at the computer.![]()
I understand your pain. Am 24 plus hours into using Google Messages and am slowly getting used to it.Thanks to everyone who's posted about Samsung messages. All my texts transferred over during the smart switch, but I noticed right away it was Google messages on the new phone. I guess I'll get used to it. I've disabled some of the more annoying features. : )
I have not been able to download it on T-Mobile or ATT. It is not in the Store, the direct link didn't work, and neither did the APK I had. Last night my google messages decided to delete all my text messages.Google says this about the phase out of Samsung Messages.
Samsung is phasing out the native Samsung Messages app in favor of Google Messages, which is now the default app on new devices like the Galaxy S25. While older phones can still use Samsung Messages, it no longer supports RCS (Rich Communication Services) on many US carriers, resulting in a loss of features like typing indicators and high-quality image sharing.
Key Details on the Shift:
Despite this transition, users can still download and use Samsung Messages if they prefer its interface, though it will not offer the same, modern messaging capabilities as Google Messages.
- Default App Status: Google Messages comes pre-installed as the default app, while Samsung Messages is no longer pre-loaded on new models.
- RCS Support Ended: Starting in early 2025, Samsung Messages lost RCS support on several carriers, including Verizon.
- Availability: Although being phased out, the Samsung Messages app remains available for download on the Galaxy Store.
- Reasoning: The move is a collaboration with Google to provide a more consistent, feature-rich, and universally compatible messaging experience (RCS) across Android devices.
I'm so sorry.I have not been able to download it on T-Mobile or ATT. It is not in the Store, the direct link didn't work, and neither did the APK I had. Last night my google messages decided to delete all my text messages.
