Looking at possibly switching to the G4 from the iPhone 6 plus because it has been irritating me a lot lately. Looking for opinions and comparisons from anyone that made the switch.

I did try the s6 when it came out but returned it because of battery life and lag issues.

Anyone in the same boat as me ? Asking for real opinions not the "just try it for yourself" responses.

Thanks!

I have had the iPhone 6 plus, note 4, s6e, and g4 as my daily driver.

The g4 does seem to have less lag than the s6e but it isn't perfect either.

Battery life, I would say that my 6 plus gets near double the battery life of my g4.

This. Dpham and I have had the same experiences and have use the iPhone 6 plus in the past. It's a great phone but it has hiccups (even if minor).

Have you ever used Android before?

Also what carrier? Based on my experience, I have a hard time recommending the Verizon g4 for someone who has the 6p now. Mine has touch screen, overheating in navigation and weaker radio than the 6 plus.

The international g4 seemed to be less problematic

I have the g4 and still have my iphone 6 plus. I still use the iphone when I go out of town or going out. The battery is the biggest problem with the g4. I think the camera is better on the g4 if that is important. I think the g4 is the smoothest android phone I've ever had. I'm getting my spare battery and charger tomorrow from lg, so I think once I get in a pattern of swapping out the battery I will stick with the g4 more.

I have tmobile - would be doing it with their new Jump On Demand program. I have had android before, like I previously said, the s6 battery was just horrible and there was a lot of lag.

People's G4 battery-life experiences have varied (my Verizon G4 was quite unimpressive with battery, but other people are doing much better). But SOT is a common point of comparison. A theme seems to be S6's getting more SOT than the G4.

Which is a bit discouraging, when my impression of the S6, just from what I'd read in passing, was that the S6 battery life was not good. People here with both the S6 and G4 will be able to offer much-more-informed comparisons than I can, fortunately.

For the G4, 2-4 hours of SOT seems common. Some are getting more than 4 hours, but I'd say 5 hours is pretty rare, from what I've read. I was on-track for 2.5 hours before being totally dead, on the last day with my G4.

I came from the 6 plus. I've had the g4 for 7 days now. I love the g4 compared to the 6 plus, but there are a few things I liked more on the 6 plus. Battery was way better and the phone was much more smooth overall. I won't be going back because I love having options and the customisation of Android. It was a tough choice for me to make but I don't regret it! Good luck and let us know what you do!

What kind of battery life are you getting ? Some people have said 2 hours screen on time. Is that accurate ?! That seems crazy!

I'm getting 3 hours or so. It truly depends on what you do. I personally don't care because I will have the second battery here next week. The phone has great standby time from my experience.

I left a 6 plus and have a G4 ans i love it , the G4 has a better camera and blows the iphone away in pic quality the G4 battery is the only thing inferior to the 6 plus other than that the screen on the G4 is better and the processor is faster in the G4

So weird cause my G2 battery was better than my friends 6plus.. And my G4 is way better than that. But to each his own. Everyone's usage and time varies.. I get about 3.5 to 5.5 hours of on screen time with my G4 and 13-16 hours all together.. I unplug at 730 am and come home at 530pm and still have 65ish percent left.
