Hello all.

Still not sure what to do as my 45 days of owning the phone should fall into the rumored announcement date as far as return policy goes. Anyone return their razr for the galaxy nexus release? Any input into people's opinions on the two devices? Would enjoy hearing people's thoughts on it.

Thanks!

I took mine back. I was on a 14 day policy since I got it on release day, so I just returned it. The razr was nice, but the nexus' more advanced display got me regretting the razr.

I feel ill miss that as well if I let my return window lapse. Also since the Motorola Dinara was announced for future us release, I think ill be left wanting more too quick with the razr.

If your interested in ICS (based on the past, I could easily see current devices not getting ICS for 3 to 6 months), first downloads of OS updates, elimination of bloat and a better camera, take your Razr back and get a Nexus whenever it's released. If those things aren't important to you (doesn't really matter what others are doing) and you like the Razr, keep it. If you keep the Razr, I suspect that once it's released, you'll spend the next year or two wishing that you waited another month to get the Nexus.

I'll be switching from the Razr to the GN. I don't hate the Razr, but I don't love it either. The battery life is terrible, slightly better than my Tbolt, but not by much. Then the other day the screen froze and I couldn't do anything. I would usually pull the battery... but not with the Razr. It eventually fixed itself, but it really had me worried.

I currently have the Razr that I got specifically as a loaner until the Nexus comes out. I'd have to say my opinion on the phone is pretty negative, but I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that I've been spoiled with the Galaxy S2. I can give you a brief rundown of what my thoughts are.

Build Quality: It took me awhile to get used to the look and feel of this phone, but I can't say it's all that bad. It's a little too thin for me, if that's possible, but it's not anything I'd really be unhappy about if I planned on keeping the device. It's definitely got a solid build for such a thin phone. I've never been a huge fan of Motorola, but there's no question this phone is sold in the build quality department.

Hardware: As responsive as this phone is, I always seem to be underwhelmed by the choices Motorola makes for it's processors. I haven't experienced any lag on this phone, but it just lacks that "world-beater" class of speed that I've grown accustomed to from Samsung. So is it bad? Not at all. It's actually a very fast phone and if you're not extremely picky like I am, this phone will do everything you need just fine.

Screen: This is where I'm just flat-out disappointed. When I read the review on the Verge that put this screen at a 5, I laughed. When I actually started using it, I understood why they were so harsh. Super AMOLED or not, this screen just isn't up to par with the screens you see elsewhere. A news site with red text looks grainy beyond belief. For Motorola users, it's a step up. For everyone else? A big letdown.

Camera: I'm not overly impressed with the camera, but it's not bad. It will do for just about anyone, but if youre picky, this isn't going to cut it for you.

Software: It's still Gingerbread and it's still a toned-down version of Blur. You be the judge of that.

Bottom line, I'm not a huge fan of this phone. I can see where some people will be and are fans, but when you've been spoiled by how great the Galaxy S2 line is and how great the Nexus will be, it's hard to look at the Razr and be impressed.

My main enjoyments of the phone (razr) are:

Build feel is great. Its slim and i never knew how smooth it felt.

Radio quality is great. I always have full bars.

Speaker on the phone is great. Super loud, even louder than my old SGS2 I had when i still have AT&T.

i think ill miss the capacitive buttons, i really like the long press feat. of the search button but im sure ill enjoy the ICS just as much. 720p also sounds great as well.

For these reasons I am sticking with the RAZR.
No doubt the Nexus will be stellar; but this time going
with proven call reliability.
Not to mention verified splash proof. N I think its is
one BadA$$ looking phone.
Good luck guys I know u will enjoy your new toy....
N that was a sincere wish......:D

I'm probably going to be returning my RAZR for the Nexus but the only thing stopping me is the size of the phone. While I can fit the RAZR in my pocket, sometimes it's not too comfortable it in there when I'm sitting down. I don't have tiny pockets or wear skin tight jeans, but with the Nexus being taller and thicker, I'm just not sure how it'll work out.

I got the razr as a rental as well and I can't say I have much to complain about. Build quality is pretty nice as well. I won't be keeping it when nexus is released but if there was no nexus, this would be my phone.
And am I the only one getting great battery life on this phone? It seems like every post I read people are complaining about the battery, but I have been getting stellar performance out of mine. Best battery of a 4g device I have used, hands down. I just hope the nexus matches this.

I returned my RAZR after a week. Between the smart actions that were useless as most of them needed the GPS turned on. The battery life was poor at least on mine. On a full charge I let it sit and checked on it three hours later and lost 20% on the battery. All it could have been doing the three hours was check for email.. MY iPhone and Droid which I also charged fully and didn't use had no loss of power. At least the iPhone showed 100%. The Droid battery might have lost a little but didn't check that close. I hope the GN does better on the battery than a RAZR or back it does too.
I liked the RAZR with the exception of the Smart Actions. Some were for me confusing to set up correctly or maybe they didn't function correctly. At least at night I could put the phone on sleep and had no loss on the battery. Problem with that is you can't receive calls or data.
Most of the smart actions I was using was to conserve on the battery. Can't remember what other settings but the RAZR wasn't living up to my expectations.
One other thing was using SKYPE. I could see who I was video calling but they couldn't see me but only hear me. I'm sure if it was my fault as I assumed the camera should have turned on. Can't remember if I checked the settings or not. Really disappointed with the phone.
Hoping for the best with the GN.
