Anyone else disappointed with the slow rollout of the 4.3 update?

Finally my update arrived. I am pleased but feel Google could handle differently, and I think it would be worthwhile if it did so. This is a positive Google could learn from Apple. As for sideloading, standing on head, etc., I think people shouldn't need to jump through hoops to get an update quickly. Bought the Nexus 4 for assured, quick updates. That's part of the bargain.

Compare the 5 days you waited with the wait for any other device. It is a quick update.

" opens my inclination to return to iPhone where updates rolled out quickly"

That is absolute nonsense. Apple announced iOS7 back on June 10, and only a select small number of people have been able to put it on their devices. 4.3 was announced last week. Get over yourself. You'll have it by the end of next week at the latest- and you'll STILL have it before iOS users get iOS7.

What are you talking about? It was announced FIVE DAYS AGO!!!! My wife got it on Saturday- 2 days after announcement. Apple announced iOS7 back on June 10th. You'll get 4.3 months faster than iOS users will get their next version and Windows Phone users are in even a worse boat with the debacle of Win7/8.

Good god. Stop complaining. People with the HTC One don't even have 4.2.2 yet.

If you're SO impatient, then do what I did and install it yourself the very day it is announced.

I updated my Nexus 4 to 4.3 this morning! I think I received the update so fast! Not disappointed! Actually I'm impressed!
But as they said waiting time is different for different users. Be patient :)

IOS 7 was announced for this fall. Don't confuse a beta developer system with a release date. The day IOS 7 is released it is released to all phones supported on all carriers. 4.3 was talked about for the last year. Also 4.3 isn't an operating system revamp, IOS7 is.

The difference is Google doesn't have a beta system for their developers or their OEMs. It is why it takes a while for 4.3 updates to come out for carrier oem skin phones. The developers get IOS7 early so they can update and prepare their applications for the new APIs available because it is made available immediately.

These are two different situations that can not even be compared.

I am growing really ill of reading threads like this!

Buy a device based on what it can do at the time of purchase, not what you hope it will do when/if it gets an update.

If you get an update, think of it as a surprise, be grateful that you get anything!
Stop reading.

Yes it's annoying having to wait for the update, but imagine having a non nexus device do you know-how how long You'd be waiting for the 4.3 update? I can guarantee it be a very long time. The S4, and the HTC one won't be seeing 4.3 for months. On top of that the Google edition of those phones will take just as long.

So be happy you have a nexus device the update will come just have to be patient for 2 weeks max. I have 2 nexus 4 devices and only 1 of them has been updated my other one hasn't yet, I don't get how it works either but be patient.
