Well, not to long ago i noticed in the morning after i woke up, after leaving my phone on all night, that my current running services have only been running for either a few minutes or 1 or 2 hours.

I figured maybe it was some sort of fluke. So i ignored it, till i caught my Droid in the act one night. Just out of nowhere, in the middle of use, my Droid just reset itself without warning. So thats when i came to the realization that my Droid seems to reset itself at least once every 2 days, most of the time for no reason cause it happens when im asleep.

I was curious if anyone else has been experiencing this as well.

Thoughts???

EDIT: On a side note, it doesnt affect the phone in anyway. It still operates pretty flawlessly while in use.

Mine was doing this, turned out to be a bad SD card. You can try running without the card awhile, it will throw an error it's missing but will start. In my case, I was able to get data transfer to hang when copying off of the card to my PC regardless if was in the phone or plugged into an SD adapter on my computer.

My Droid does this and I read in another post that the cause me be the charging cable. I'm using a cheap charging cable and data cable from a previous phone when I'm at work. I notice the random reboots at work more than anywhere. Are you using the charger that came with your Droid? Just a thought.

You know, I didn't even think about the SD card. I was having some problems with it in the first month or so. Might swap it out for a new one.

Thanks for both replies y'all.

question: Why would an SD card having anything to do with charging and reboot?

(I'm not trying to be a smartypants, I recently had an issue with USB debugging mode, USB drivers, phone not charging and all sorts of craziness - didn't think of bad card. I want more data on this)

for as long as i've had my droid, it has only happened 3 times with no real pattern. and one was because an App caused a crash.

to the OP: good idea to check the run time every once in a while to see if did reboot without me even knowing it. Never thought to do that.

to answer your question directly: NO, no reboots, at least not since unplugged this morning

just to stir things up.... think it's related to large files being downloaded... perhaps OTA 2.1 updats?? eh? come on, maybe??

Never had a random reboot on the stock ROM, when I was flashed on to some other ROM's however, I did run into this from time to time.

I had a Blackberry 8330 where the MicroSD and a theme used together caused it to reboot several times a day. I can't explain the reasoning behind it but it was frustrating.

The SD card I could see errors with causing random reboots, but honestly the charging would be a FAR FETCH IMO.

A good way to test would be simply removing the media card for a day and seeing if you are still experiencing the same issues.

Are you running any type of task killer program by any chance?

Nope nope. I did in the first few weeks, but I have been task killer free for about 2 and a half months now. And I agree, the charging thing seemed to be a bit of a stretch.

Man, why you gotta play like that? You actually made me check for an update after I read your comment. LOL.

How about trying a complete wipe, and starting fresh? Have you given that a shot?

I've done that in the past for various other reasons before and it seems to have done nothing to change things. I might give it a shot again though.

I'm gonna try taking out my SD Card first though.
