Anyone else get notification sound without any notification?

[Android Central Question]

My phones notification sound and vibration keep occuring when there is nothing to notify me about. It sounds and vibrates but i get no notification. I even downloaded a notification catcher app to see if that would help but it didnt help. My phone literally went off in my hand and vibrated but nothing, not even the app caught it.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Does this go away if you turn off NFC?
