Anyone else hoping the next HTC One phone has a bigger screen?

Butterfly s for people who want the same performance will have 0.3 inch bigger screen than the One..

But yes.. If someone wants the same feel of HTC One but want larger screen wait for the max.

I have both, and I can tell the difference. The One is smaller, but longer, which I don't like, and the S4 is bigger and has a better screen ratio.

If you didn't Iike the htc one screen size? Why did you buy one?

Do you have the browser set to full screen mode in the settings?
Also, when android 4.2 is released? hopefully soon?
The menu bar which shrinks a lot of apps will have the
Option to be disabled.

Yes the s4 is a little bit bigger. 0.2 of an inch. However, it not like comparing an iPhone 5 to an s4. As you stated in your original post you wanted the htc one around 5 inches?
Isn't 4.7 around 5 inches?

I didn't noticed the difference either when I had the S4.

The Note 2 at 5.5" was pushing it's limits to being portable, so I don't know if I want it bigger. I heard the Note 3 will be 5.7" but I'm guessing it's just a thinner bezel.

I'm also buying the iPad mini Retina which is 7.9" this is why I prefer my Super Phones around 4.7"-5.7". Any bigger and PORTABILITY will be a problem, I can't carry both all the time.

I really don't see much of a difference between my HTC One and my coworkers s4 in terms of size

Agreed. That .3" of increased screen size wouldn't have a profound effect on my life.

Besides, when you get a 5" screen, you soon begin pining for a 5 1/2" or 6" screen. Where does it stop?

For me, the current size is just right. I don't want my phone to be too big or heavy for my front pants pocket.

I would of totally opted for the Htc one if the display were 5 inches; 4.7 was too small for me though so i went with the S4.

From my Sammy Galaxy S4 :D

I want a 15.6 inch 4K screen....'nough said. Toting that sucka would be da bomb....

Seriously, I have both the S4 and the One. Yes, the Screen size of the S4 is .3 inches bigger and it is noticeable, but it doesn't make up the fact of the performance of the S4. You know what I mean...the micro stuttering due to touchmywiz. With that said, I prefer the One's screen size because I can use it with one hand for most things....plus I love the aluminum quality, not plastic in quantity....

Right now the screen is a perfect as it is. The only thing I would change is to add a larger screen for on screen buttons.

The screensize is fine. I think it's slightly bigger than my Samsung Gal S3. There's a limit to the practical size of a handheld "phone" before it comes something more akin to a "tablet", and this has got to be just about it. Anything bigger gets too bulky for normal people who can't palm a basketball.
Lol i remember watching a Samsung Galaxy S Captivate review when it came out and 4 in. was the sweetspot then. Maybe next year 5.5 in. will be the norm.

I have big hands and can hold and operate a 5" inch phone comfortably, but I really think that 4.7" is an ideal size. The HTC One being narrower than the S4 can help people with small hands to use it one handed for typing, which is something that we can't do on a bigger and wider screen. A 4.5" is also a very nice size and it results is less weigh.

It's a matter of personal preference in the end, though.

Ha ha yeah at what point are people going to just start carrying tablets up against their heads like phones. This whole phablet thing trips me out. I am not a big fan but then again I don't like pocket protectors or brief cases with wheels.

The 4.7" does feel rather cramped particularly as long as the dreaded black bar persists. I would prefer a 5" screen but only if they can keep the footprint the same size or smaller. To me, they should ditch the BoomSound gimmick and put a proper size screen on the sexy aluminum frame.

They are releasing the HTC One Max. Rumor has it 6 inches of glory for those who want a bigger size.

i couldnt imagine having to go back to a smaller screen after buying my note 2. contrary to popular belief its not to big and fits right in my front pocket when its not in my hand. i would never consider a device under 5 unless the market takes a turn and everything goes back to being under 5.

Wait, was that sarcasm?

Nope. BoomSound while nicely done simply is a useless feature to me and many others who keep their phones on vibrate most of the time and listen to media with headphones. I doubt other OEMS will scramble to copy this gimmick. I'd much rather have the screen real estate than external speakers.
