I have to really look to even see any. And to do that I have to hold the phone near straight vertical and look down at the screen. Better then I had been expecting thanks to the info in the review.

my menu has it the worst, and the home and back have it slightly but the search has none. even the menu button is pretty minor. doesnt bother me at all.

Sorry for the fuzziness (pics were taken with my old phone's camera)

So are we saying that this is normal?

(Phone was in normal light conditions... it is the same either way though)

WOW...not that is NOT normal! I only see the leakage when looking down into the screen at an ANGLE, but not when im looking at it straight on

haha yeah, thats what i was thinking. well it looks like i'm heading back to Sprint tmrw morning.

Is this really true? I could probably accept the minor leakage at the bottom of the unit, but I expect that light leakage at the top, into the screen area, would be completely unacceptable to many of us. Please tell me you misspoke on this. I'm considering buying an EVO in July, as soon as my AT&T iPhone contract expires, but if true, this would be a serious deal breaker for me.

No, they were probably talking about something different or minor, because if you look up a couple posts at my pics, you can see that what i was talking about is absolutely not normal. 'eyecon' wasn't mispoken, he/she just didn't understand the severity of my problem. I'm hoping to get a new unit switched out tmrw. Don't let this deter you from getting an Evo, its still a great phone, and even if Sprint won't swap mine out, I would just deal with it.

(JK, I wouldn't accept them not swapping it out. :)

sorry if this has already been mentioned, but a poster on another forum mentioned that removing the back cover and tightening the bottom two screws SLIGHTLY with a tiny screwdriver solved his light leakage issues below the capacitive buttons. I havent tried this yet, but will when i find a screwdriver that small.

Major Problem or Being Picky? (Pics)

Apparently, a lot of people are having minor light leakage along the bottom of the capacitive buttons. Some are saying on top, but only if you look at an angle. I feel like I am the only one so far with this issue. My leakage is creeping up on to my screen in 3 different spots. It is very noticeable and distracting no matter what the light conditions are or from what angle I'm looking at the screen.

Do you guys think it's nothing or does this warrant an exchange?

That to me does not look like normal Light Leakage, as mine does not have this at all. I only have the slight light leakage from the Capacitive buttons (left 2)

Yah mine doesn't do that.. whether its worth an exchange is up to you.

in all honesty, I personally would go exchange it because I am very picky, however I feel that the right answer is if your evo is working good, with no dead pixels or any other problems keep it.

but at the same time the evo is not the pre :D so if you exchange it for a new one i'm pretty sure you'll get a perfect one.

Thanks for the input. I just wanted to hear some other perspectives since I had nothing to compare it to... I will definitely be making a trip to Sprint today.
