Anyone else suck on 1x

Still losing data connectivity on my replacement rezound. When I do get 4G my phone burns up and battery is dead in 3 hours. WTF is going on?? Anybody seen a battery get this hot for no reason?

I called vzw tech support today about that and they are sending out a new phone, but seeing posts like yours makes me think there is simply a flaw in the Rezound.

I switched over to my iPhone for now, might try re-activating the HTC if and when they finally push ICS ota and it proves to be stable.

I have called numerous times.one guy said my area isn't 4G supported even though my area was the first 4G area and i didn't lose my signal until the beginning of june.another guy said i have to wait for ics.another guy said there was nothing they could do, if we are UN happy we can go to a different carrier and they won't charge us to end the contract...the lady today said we could down grade to a 3G phone...i feel like they had to have flipped a switch somewhere lol..there's no way i have prefect 4G Service for a year and a half then all of the sudden...no 4G..no data connection, and half the time no 3G just 1x?

screw the downgrade. Tell them you bought this one, it worked fine and if they cannot fix it to upgrade you. Find comparable phone you like and tell them you want that. Usually VZW is good with that
 
My husband has tried...numerous times,they said they cannot give him An upgraded phone.he has the bionic. They said they will trouble shoot and get back with him. He's called them 6 times in the last 2 weeks. His phones 4G works every couple of second and then nothing so he can't really use his phone for anything but calls and those are super choppy, but neither of ours started this until June.i told them to look at our data usage, it went from over 10GB a month to 2...because we can't utilize our phones like before, no data=no fun lol...i guess we wait to see if the update fixes it.for me at least

I'm calling today to see what I can do. As far as a comparable phone is there really one? Razr? Razr maxx? Looking at the prices and the specs the SG3 is really the only one that compares. Any thoughts from you guys?

I wouldn't accept anything that would make me lose my unlimited plan. Verizon knows they dropped the ball again with the rezound just the way they did with the thunderbolt.

Well I can almost guarantee that they will not replace the rez with a SGSIII. They will offer the Maxx, Gnex, spectrum, lucid and so on

That is not necessarily true I called monday with my being stuck on 1x issue and data being unreliable and causing me up to 3 reboots per day to get data working properly and they only offered the lg revolution, Droid charge, and Droid Bionic as replacement alternatives to getting a replacement rezound and to all of those options I said hell no! So i called again yesterday and the lady I spoke to said there was no way to get a different replacement and wanted to know who I talked to because it is against policy to give a different replacement phone. So I don't know how any of the other people on the forums are getting razrs or razr maxx's as a replacement I tried 2 separate times with no luck. The are sending me a warranty replacement rezound and a replacement battery as well because the battery has been weird lately.

The lady is dead wrong... My wife has gotten replacement devices before due to calls not coming in but showing up in her voicemail. She went from the Facsinate to the X2 now she is on the Razr by choice

Unless they started a new policy, there are quite a few here who have been upgraded to the maxx and me personally if it wasnt for the policy, I might still be sporting a Fascinate.
 
So how is the maxx compared to the rezound? I'm getting my 5th replacement rezound tomorrow and if that one has issues I'm getting a comparable device. They said either an incredible 4g , Razr, or Razr maxx.

They will throw in the gnex at this point to if you ask...just throwing an option out.

today they offered me the maxx, inc 4G, gnex and another POS...had to look it up, it was the revolution
 
I started having this problem. I Could switch to cdma only to get 3g. Eventually a restart seems to have brought back 4g. I'm in nyc good 4g coverage area, so no excuses there.
 
My 4th rezound will be here today I ordered a replacement because of being stuck on 1x at times while in a 3g 4g area and because on 4g and 3g data would turn on and off repeatedly while I had full bars and to fix the issue temporarily I might add was to reboot the phone or toggle airplane mode on then off which fixed it for a little while in the last 3 days I have rebooted the phone to get data functioning properly at least 3 times per day. The verizon phone rep is calling me to follow up to see if the replacement is functioning properly late next week if I am still having issues the verizon rep said they would exchange it for a comparable phone which will be determined next week. My original rezound had dead pixels after 2 months and the replacement for that one 2 months later had very bad light sensor issues and 2 months later the 3rd one has serious radio/data issues and the 4th one is on its way and only time will tell if the 4th one will be the good one or not. I swear every 2 months something takes a crap on this phone that forces me to get a replacement I don't know why I am in no way abusive to it. I am a normal light to moderate user.
 
So after my 5th replacement there giving me a razr maxx. Should be getting it today. Kinda sad cuz I love the rezound but very curious about ics and the maxx. Hopefully all the issues stop for all of you rezound owners.

Well I have been testing my 4th replacement rezound the last few days and unfortunately it still has data issues where it says data is on but there is no connection, and data will turn on and off on its own while I am trying to use data to surf the net or youtube or use a app or it will flip between 1x, 3g, and 4g all of which either toggling airplane mode on and off or a reboot will solve for a short while. So it has the same issues as the the 3rd rezound I sent back yesterday. The only improvement is the touch buttons at the bottom of the screen actually light up red instead of light-dark pink. So when the verizon rep calls me tomorrow as promised last week I will be asking for a different phone as a replacement.
 
Well talked with the verizon rep today and I was able to get a Blue 16gb Samsung Galaxy S3 certified like new replacement with needed accessories instead of a 5th rezound but I will have to send the rezound and battery, charger and back cover back to verizon once I receive the gs3 replacement. I should get it tomorrow didn't want to leave the rezound but after 4 of them I had to do something because of all the issues even with the replacement I received fri had the same issues.
