Remember the Google Ion? It was essentially a HTC Magic, but with stock Cupcake without any manufacturer or carrier customizations, and it was for registered developers only. I think the so-called Nexus Two is a similar deal: it's going to be a Samsung i9000 Galaxy S running stock Gingerbread, sold to registered developers only. Nothing to see folks, move along.

The Nexus One even though didn't do good on sales, in my opinion has been a better phone than any other phone that has come after it. I mean think about it how many problems has it had compared to the newer phones out there. It set the bar for android phones like for example a 1ghz processor. Need i say more? It was the first to run froyo how many newer phones out there are still on 2.1 or just recently upgraded to 2.2? Its not tied to any carrier eliminating the bloatware. Does not have any kind of chip or program preventing it to be rooted. Its hspa+ capable. It has stock froyo which is way easier to upgrade unlike HTC sense or Samsung touch wiz... The phone just has too many pros. The only cons I can think of is the whole 3g signal thing and not having multi touch when it first came out which was fixed with an update. At this moment nothing else pops into my head. As of right now there is no phone out there that is worthy of replacing my N1 and honestly after being an N1 owner and seeing all the issues with other Android phones It would be hard for me to settle for anything that's not running vanilla android and that is completely untied from any carrier. I want to be able to root my phone Motorola, T-Mobile, HTC. Shame on you guys for trying to lock down Android when it's not meant to be.... I hope that the Nexus Two is real just not from Samsung because that would be a huge let down....

What it will be a fail if it doesn't release with Arion or tegra 2 nexus line should push the bar not live in the status quote

seems about right, though i do think normies will be able to get it unsubsidized from at least one carrier. frankly it wont deserve the "nexus" moniker unless it's bone stock with whatever future ver of android, specs are almost an after thought for me if it doesnt come stock, and i mean stock stock

I am really suspicious about this one. Didn't Google say they won't make a Nexus Two or something? Even if they did, why would they choose Samsung? Wouldn't they want it to be consistent (HTC both times)?

some of the other android blogs report that samsung will not call it anything "nexus". i still hold that there will be a stock android device made by samsung, sold direct to customers. with that, it would have to be mind blowingly awesome for me to even blink an eye.

I really hope it's legit. If even some of the rumors are true, it'll be a great device. I been holding out for something to replace the Nexus One and hopefully, the Nexus Two will be it. If it's not legit, guess I'll just keep waiting for something better to come along.

i think samsung would be the best choice. they have the same chip set as the iphone. from what i read the hummingbird and a4 are nearly the same. something about the company being owned by the same person or something. i dont remmeber the story exactly it was a little while before the galaxy s came out in america

samsung galaxy s has hit all carriers so i imagine google wants to do this since it did not go down correctly the first time (htc making the incredible, and the evo prevented this)

but yesterday i read that samsung has come out and said this is not coming. however they could just be preventing engadget or whoever got the mockup from leaking this one out before its time.
id imagine theyre gonna wait for the dual chip and gingerbread. a lot of phones are still on 2.1 so timing is not right yet. probably a lot of work to be done still

I don't remember Samsung denying anything about the tablet when it got exposed in Australia a month before release announcements.

if this is in reply to me, i never said anything about the tablet.

but according to this article, the are denying the nexus 2
Samsung: Nexus Two rumors are “simply not true”

My point was, since the tablet was exposed early before Samsung announced it, they didn't deny any of it. They're denying the Nexus Two so I'm more willing to believe Samsung than an unclear report of "what looked like a Galaxy but must be a Nexus".
