Anyone else with excessive heat?

My new Droid Pro seems to run pretty hot whenever I do anything. Even with the screen off, it's still got appreciable warmth coming out the back towards the top of the phone. Has anyone else noticed this with their phones or am I rocking a defective phone?

I've noticed warmth, but nothing considerable. All phones will get warm with excessive use, but should not get very hot. The Dpro has a plastic battery cover and only feels warm to the touch, after excessive use, whereas the original pro with the metal back cover, feels much warmer.

I’ve seen this reported various times either here on Android Central or elsewhere, I think it’s even been brought up in Motorola’s support forums as well. I don’t think it’s been an actual problem as far as overheating, but it has raised some eyebrows. Might just be how the phone is designed to run. Like Eighty said, the plastic backing will also make the heat generated from the phone more noticeable compared to a metal backing.

I think this is a common theme amongst Motorola phones. My Father has an OG Droid and i had a Droid X and i have noticed this heat problem with both phones at this heat increases while using GPS. Although this was very uncomfortable my phone did not break down from it. but please if you feel it burning to the touch its better to take it in to be looked at vs taking the chance of burning yourself.
