Anyone ever get their phone number banned from WhatsApp?

I tried setting up a WhatsApp account and during the phone number verification process, I got an error. When I tried to verify again, it said my phone number was banned!

Has anyone dealt with having their phone number banned from WhatsApp? If so, what's the best recourse for fixing the problem? I've tried contacting WhatsApp support via email and even tried reaching out to them through Facebook and Twitter to no avail. A Google search resulted in a few supposed 1-888 support numbers that all ended up being scammers.

Looking for any tips or tricks anyone has used to get past a WhatsApp ban.

Yep, totally went through that process, including looking through the FAQs they reccommended to see if there was something on my end i could fix.

Started a few email interactions with the support team, but every time I've gotten one quick response right when I send the first email and then no more responses. I've done everything I can to explain what I was doing when I got banned, but it seems like I get an automated reply and that's all.

Seriously disappointing that a MESSAGING service with nearly one billion active users wouldn't have some sort of tech support chat service like so many other companies have. I'm honestly not sure if human eyes have read my emails, or if anyone on their end is looking into my problem at all. Very frustrating experience.
