anyone experiencing super slow charging times via USB?

I have experienced super slow charging times when charging via PC using a usb cable. for example, I have had my X on the charger for almost 3 hours. the phone was dead (0%) and now, it's only at 40%. This seems excessively long!

USB always charges very slow, if you want faster charges go AC adapter.

Computer USB output power is +/- 500mA and the AC output is +/- 700mA

The AC charger is rated at 850mAh. In regards to USB, if you every plan on using this phone as a GPS device in your car, don't bother with any of the USB chargers, regardless of what they are rated at. Go for a regular car charger like this one.

how's the OEM charger? as you know, it's a USB cable with a wall socket adapter.

I'm not an electronics expert, but there's something different about the car USB chargers, than the one's that plug into a wall outlet. The phone will see the car charger as being USB and will limit the charge to 500mAh, regardless of what it's rated. There was a big thread about this in the Incredible forums and over at XDA. There are 2 data pins you can solder together in the car USB charger to circumvent this. I actually did that with a USB charger I bought and the phone then saw it as a regular charger.

Make sure you don't have "Stay Awake while charging" turned on. Settings -> Applications -> Development -> Stay Awake. I've seen some people posting this trick and while useful when being wall-charged, i think the screen diminishes the battery as fast as usb-charged can charge it.

yea, this seems WAY too good to be true. I already have a car charger and I'm even considering buying this just because it's 2 bucks lol

EDIT: Ordered it because all the reviews were amazing for it on amazon. Will update if it sucks though lol. $6 well spent. i love deals like this on amazon.

I own it and it works great. It's OEM Motorola and is of high quality. You might hate the blue light though. It doesn't bother me, but it did some people in the reviews that you guys saw.

Does it take a really long time for it to be able to turn on? I've had it plugged in to my computer for 40mins and it won't turn on still. I'm using the top on/off button to try and turn it on... I don't have the wall charger with me because I'm at work.

Ah fixed it by taking battery out and putting it back in. Now it's starts up.
