Anyone getting the Nexus 7?

I ordered the 8gb on Saturday - it's out for delivery. Should be here in a few hours.

Mainly want it for better wifi. Love the Prime for home and office, but the weak WiFi is usually useless in hotels. Smaller size might be nicer on the road too. For $200, its worth trying out.

My prime has gotten very glitchy since the last update. Never had many fc's before, now have them constantly. Hopefully nexus 7 will lead us to jellybean quickly.

I love when I'm tracking and it says "Out for Delivery." I actually have a package for a new mouse out for delivery right now and I'm checking outside for it constantly. Lol. Of course, as soon as I buy it the price drops by 20 bucks. Looks like a killer mouse though, and, I'm very excited to unbox that bad boy today.

Honestly, while I generally only get one or two out of four bars, I haven't found the WiFi to be slow. But, I'm not using it in a hotel and I'm generally close to the source of the WiFi, so, maybe it's way worse when the source is farther away.

Yea, well, lets just hope that they don't forget about us now that they have an official Google partnered device to worry about.

After many hours of bangin' on the Nex7, not a single glitch, reboot or FC so far. Proof positive that Asus can get it right. Except the wall charger - having to use the charger from my Prime!

Hey, well, that's good. Thanks for letting us know!!

When you say FC do you mean Force Close? If so, you can hit Wait and it should resolve in a couple of seconds. It's what I do. Better then FCing my browsing session. Other than the browsing hangups, I don't experience any hangups.

Prime is a little buggy, yeah, but, hopefully they'll clear that up soon. I could go for another update. I had high hopes for this update, but, it didn't really deliver.

Lol, you have to use your Prime's charger? Why? The 7's charger just wont charge it? Did you contact Asus to let them know about the problem? They should send you out a new charger if it's not working. I'd think you'd get it fast as it's a brand new tablet and they'll want you to be able to use it. :p I'd contact them ASAP.

The 7's charger won't put out enough juice. I'm using the Prime's charger with a micro usb cord - that's working fine - I'm just alternating charging nights between devices now.

I have called Google (Asus isn't handling nex7 support) and it's been somewhat frustrating. They couldn't just send me a charger. They told me a support engineer would call me within 2 days to further troubleshoot my dead charger. Two days later, no call, but they send me an rma and shipping label for the entire device. I'm not sending the tablet back -guess i have to start over. That charger can't cost them more than a dollar.

Well, if you didn't get a call back in two days, you need to call back. You need to call back over and over again until you get someone that will deal with your issue. Don't let them push you aside. Seriously? An RMA lfor the entire device when it's probably just the charger? Well, whatever, if that is the silly way they want to handle it, you can either call and demand a new charger again, or, just let them do it their silly way.

It gets better. Called Google support back on Monday. They cannot warranty anything other than the entire device as-boxed, so if I want a charger that works, I have to swap the device. I can't just take the charger from the new box and return the replacement device or I'll get charged $200 (even though I've returned the 2nd unit and only have one.) I've had this thing a week now and don't want to set it up again (had to have the device set up in my office exchange server) and I have good one with no dead pixels, light bleed or delamination.

Next issue is they can't get my account send to send a replacement at no charge anyway, so I have to have the charge on my card while the exchange takes place - once again, just for a charger. Google rep told me if I didn't want to exchange the tablet, I could just buy a new charger in the Play store for $25 plus shipping.

I kept trying to get the rep to admit this was all ridiculous - overnighting a replacement tablet back and forth when she could just ship me a charger and be done with it - but she was able to stick to the Google support script. I'm going to let Google win this one - not worth the effort to get frustrated over this - it's just comical at this point. I need to send my Prime back under warranty soon anyway - I may gain a charger in that exchange.

Trying to get back on topic - over the past week, I've found myself going for the N7 over the Prime because of its smaller size - the Prime seems way too big after getting used to the smaller screen. Two considerations though: I have pretty good eyesight and I don't own the dock. The N7 is book sized, plenty big for plowing through twitter and web browsing without having a lap full of tablet (I'm not a gamer.)

Where I will still use the Prime is sorting photos from my "big" camera. The Prime can scoot through large jpg files much faster than a PC - using a SD to MicroSD convertor, not the Asus SD card reader (that thing is slow.)

I'm strongly considering it. The prime is insanely buggy.. especially how slow the keyboard(on screen) is! The internet performance is annoying too.

Are any of you Prime owners considering selling the TF201 and getting the Nexus 7? I'm aware of the screen size difference but is that a deal breaker for anyone? It's half the price and maybe wifi works better :/ thoughts?

I will keep my Prime and eventually toy with roms after JB release grows old. It is too powerful to do away with. Plus the only 7" Android tablet I will be purchasing will be a TouchSquid remote. I'm seriously considering a Surface tablet (RT/Pro) as my next true tablet purchase for my business/personal use.

I found that the Nexus 7 is the best choice you can make right now honestly. Comparatively, it kills its competitors in a lot of key areas.
:p
I am getting saving up the extra cash right now to get one myself. I cannot wait to be hands-on with Android OS 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Yeah, considering the specs, it should be a lot more smooth. I think a JB update will really benefit the Prime.

Not as a replacement, might sell it for an infinity though

I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on the Nex7. I've been holding out for a tablet and I think this one finally hits home. Should be a couple weeks until I have the expendable cash to drop on it, but that can't come quick enough. I'm super excited about being hands on with that 4.1 JB :-)
