Honestly, I think I'm skipping the Note this year. I have a Note 9 and a Note 8 that I am still using. I didn't think the Note 9 was all that big of an upgrade over the 8 and kind of wished I would have just stayed with the 8.

It's time to skip a year and keep my money. I usually buy each years iPhones as well and I think I'm skipping it too.

Last time I skipped the Note was the Note 7. I didn't think that was a worthy update.

I rewatched the Samsung Unpacked Event 2018 two days ago which made me appreciate this Note9 of mine even more. I will decide after watching Samsung Unpacked II 2019 tomorrow afternoon. I have hedged my bets by reserving my place in line for a first crack at the new Note10 so I'm still on the fence.

I have yet to throw anything at my Note9 which has taxed the 8GB of RAM. Last year after wanting all of that 512GB of native storage I have used just 147GB and there's every scrap of what I consider 'keepsake' media (old photos and videos) on a 400GB micro SD card in the phone. I could easily get by with this Note9 for another year; easily.

Samsung actually giving, or making widely available, the options consumers want most? Has the world gone completely mad?

We'll know in just under twenty-eight hours. I believe that they will begin arriving at people's homes on the 23rd of this month as was speculated earlier.

Going on the past 2 notes, delivery day will be from Friday the 23rd.
Usually some in the USA get it a little earlier.

You still have the Note 3? That was my last Samsung phone up until it nearly died a few months ago from old age and battery overheating.

Yup. I even bought a new battery recently to keep it alive. I have the Samsung wireless charging back and put it on charger stand at night to use for time temp night light combo

It burns through battery faster than it should but I'm too lazy to do a system reset and set up again. Maybe some rainy day...

That's funny! My own Note 3 battery literally expanded from overheating which caused the screen casing to bulge up from the sides. The poor thing became extremely laggy to the point of being un-usable. I think the overheating may have fried the CPU. I also have an old Note 4 as well. Battery life on my Note 4 is sketchy but still usable. I'm now using the S9 phone...getting used to no stylus pen.

Love the Note series. Usually I try to skip versions - Note 3->5->8... was going to go to 7 but we all know the story with that battery fiasco.

Wish there were more options with a stylus out there. Probably going for the Note 10+ 5g (or whatever the top model will be called).

I wish Samsung HQ was in the US... They always give the latest and greatest to their own people. There are sometimes models we never hear about. I think it was the Note 3 or 5, can't remember, but discovered they had released a version in South Korea with a telescoping antenna that had a TV receiver built in as well!

Really amazed Samsung comes out with so many great products, especially seeing their C-Suite seems to be filled with folks who have gone to prison and then gotten their same jobs after being released!

The story continues... Tempted to wait about a month after the Note 10 is released... Why? I believe about a month after the unit is released, any major issues will have been discovered and ironed out - and if sales are sluggish ( I expect them to be no matter how great the phone is because of the niche market position for this model and the high price as well as the improved reliability of the older models) - there will probably be alot of discount deals available... However if it is really an amazing earth shattering blowout success (which I doubt) I would buy earlier...

Thoughts about any of the above?

Kruse, you make great points in your post. I thought about getting it about a month later too. Unfortunately when it comes to Note phones I have terrible restraint. I have had the 2, 3, 5 and currently the 8.

My restraint is bad too. Almost just ordered the 10+ 5G but where I live there's not even a scheduled time for them to have 5g! WTF am I doing! Backed out... But do tempted!

We won't have 5g here for a while either but even without 5g it is a badass looking phone.

Can't get past the almost 7 inch part. That's a tablet , not a phone. I can't see myself lugging around a 7 inch tablet wherever I go. But that is a lifestyle thing. I could change my mind if I hold the phone. I did pre-order by Samsung, but canceled. Gonna wait and see how it works for people.

I'm getting the note 10+ tryna decide between the 512gb model or 256gb aura glow model. Space or glow. Either one I'll have an SD card from getting my note 8 a couple years ago.

Also we didn't get the 5g model for the s10 on my carrier ATT so I doubt they'll release the 5g note 10+. I'll wait until note 12 or whatever to get the 5g version I guess.
