Anyone going to look at the revamped Fold?

With our new Note 10s in our hands, it looks like Samsung is getting the Fold ready to go back out. I have a sickness for shiny new things. I was all in on the Fold preorder before the debacle and sold my XS Max for the Note 10+ which I am loving. My head tells me the Fold is overpriced and suffers from too many first gen limitations to buy. But that didn't stop me from preordering back in April.

So, is anyone going to look at the Fold when it releases in a month? Does anyone think it will outshine the Note? Looking at the pictures, it really isn't THAT much bigger screen size-wise than our Notes. .5 inches. Folded, its a narrower but thicker. And no S-Pen.

Seems like the best play would be grab one on the secondary market in a couple of months. I would think the resale will plummet.

Not me. I consume a lot of content on my device and I don't find it practical always unfolding a device every time I use it. When they make the outter screen bigger then I'll jump on it.

Not anymore. The note10+ does it for me with the extra shinies it has.

Not really interested in a phone that folds plus the price is way out of line.

When the fold was still in the design stages (I believe it was about the same time the Note 4 was released) I was very interested. But looking at the demo videos doesn't make me want to jump to even look at them when they are released. Too bulky and too inconvenient to open and close it all the time. I used to have the Flip Case on all my Notes (2, 4, 7, and 8) While I still had the N8 I dropped the flip cover and never got the Flip Cover for the N9 and didn't order one for the N10+

I am like the OP... I see something new and shiny and I must have it!!
My husband and I just talked about my obsession with new phones, designer purses, and don't get me started on our furbabies... I don't have the Note 10+ yet due to a BB back-order issue but I have no intention on getting Fold. The Note 11 is a different story lol

I wouldn't even look at it, not at nearly 2k actually not even at 1k, the 4.6 front screen and no s-pen makes it a dead on arrival type item for me, was ready to pay full whack for my Note 10 pre-order so I could keep my upgrade in November for something else, just in case the rumours of a 2nd generation fold already this year or early next year was true but 2k for something that is completely inferior to the Note 10 5G.... no thanks

The whole thing seems like a novelty item. They haven't yet explained why I NEED a Fold, so they need better marketing Imo.

Look at? Yes. Buy? No. I like my Note line. They get everything worked out on the fold and add an S-Pen and then we can discuss a purchase. Until then, I will observe and hope Samsung continues to push things forward.

Not anymore, no. Was on the pre-order list for the fold, but there's no way I'll upgrade to that now that the Note 10 has turned out to potentially be the best phone ever made.

Best thing to happen with the Fold is that no one is talking about it any more.

Nah, I'll pass.

I'm a total Samsung fan and love their products. I'd pay maybe a couple hundred dollars more for the Fold than what I'm paying for my Note (and there would have to be a lease option, since I upgrade twice a year). Even then, I'm giving up IP 68 water resistance and accepting a "luxury" device with a front facing display that isn't all that great. Yes, the foldable display is huge and I love the concept. But the front facing display should also be 1440p minimum, and should be larger. As for the inner screen itself, apparently you can see the crease if you look at precisely the right angle. They need to get rid of that; the crease should be imperceptible. I haven't heard about important features like Wireless PowerShare and DeX; these are things I'm getting on the standard Samsung phones that I would expect from the Fold. Finally, Samsung's botched rollout has me worried. The fact that they had to put a screen protector on the phone to ensure its normal operation is worrisome.

I like the concept of the fold and am totally OK with a foldable phone. Indeed I like the idea, since I use my phone more for watching videos and less for making phone calls (can't remember the last time I called anyone besides my wife or parents). I've always said I want a phone that's twice the size of a tablet, and a foldable phone looks like a step in that direction. But the Fold is clearly the first iteration of this idea, and maybe if there's a Fold 3 in a couple years, I'll get on board.

Too expensive, and the foldable definitely will show major improvements from one version to another at the beginning. I'll see what they do in the next try and may be that one I'll consider.

I'll check out the next revision in 2021 when they will more than likely merge the foldable functionality into the S or Note series, as of now its more a novelty phone to feature the technology first then refine it for the major series later, anyone remember the Galaxy Round, which the curve functionality went to the Note Edge, then the S series and then finally to the Notes when it was refined
