To each their own. I own a ton of Apple products, my laptop, desktop, pad, routers are Apple and it will stay that way. However I've been an Android person forever and I can say without hesitation my phones never crash, ever, and I have Samsung phones which are loaded with crap, and yes the garbage on some Androids is irritating but I just disable what I can and use what I need to. As far as your viewing habits on your phone goes, I don't watch shows or play games on it, the less I stare into that box the better, it doesn't rule my life.

I love my iPad. and I just purchased an iPhone xs max. I love the display and the battery life, I got 7 hours, but the size is too big. I'm am returning it to get the smaller xs,since it's similar in size to my OG Pixel. I am already missing my Pixel and many of the features. I honestly don't care about bezeless displays because I like to hold my phone by the chin. But everything at work is Apple or Apple compatible. I notice webpages don't run the same on the iPhone as they do Android which irks the hell out of me, so I may get the iPhone and run it Monday through Wednesday and rock the pixel on the weekends.

I must admit I stopped reading after your statement that the phone in my hand has no headphone jack or SD CARD slot.
I figure with the amount of time you took to write that you knew that was untrue, putting your post in my troll bin. Have a great day.

I think the idea of a phone costing more than an average laptop is ludicrous. I don't care who makes the phone.

Correction: It's open source, and that is the double edge sword of being open source. Sometimes, good ideas come from outside the ones maintaining the OS. Multi window comes to mind.

Only good if you have a store nearby. If you don't it's just as useless as an RMA.

There are more options than Skype.

Not a fair statement. Amazon closed themselves off from Google Play. If you bought an app with your S5 and had a Samsung tablet signing in with the same account, you could get the app there as well.

Google doesn't sell data. You said yourself they are an ad agency (which I agree with) so it would be in their best interest to NOT sell it.

While this is true in a sense, Apple also way overprices some of their products. The Mac Pro, the cylindrical shaped PC, comes to mind.

Most of your post is subjective, if not misleading. I only picked out what stood out to me.
Google Meet works as good as face time, and works on iphones and androids.

Wow, talk about "late to the party." ;)

Just kidding. While the OP made some valid points 6 years ago (along with some less-than-sound arguments), everything is appreciably better about Android/Google 6 years later and the iPhone just doesn't have that much anymore on the hot mess we love and call Android.

Well, 5 years later and I've changed my opinion. My 23 is horrible, iOS 18 is going to have enough "Android" stuff in it that I might give it a shot now. It will integrate with my MacBooks nicely too. Not rushing to try one but probably by the end of the year.

I made the switch to iOS a few months ago because I knew my kids were getting iPhones. It makes it easier to communicate with them and keep tabs on them. Location sharing, family apps and passwords, iMessage. I grew tired of switching between Samsung and Google and sacrificing one thing for something else. I’m perfectly happy with an iPhone. I still have an android tablet to mess around with on. I don’t ever foresee myself getting an iPad because they are so expensive and I’m just using a tablet to watch videos on.

My wife has an iPad and she rarely uses it because she mainly uses her iPhone and MacBook Air. I’m not even sure what she uses the iPad for as I can’t remember the last time I saw her use it at home.
