Anyone got any solutions on why my Pixel 2 won't update to Android 9

I have a brand new Pixel 2xl and it said it's ready to update to Android 9 but when I tried, it didn't work. It just said that the update was paused. It was on Android 8 out of the box.

Are you connected to wifi for this update also sometimes the phone might need to be plugged in while updating depending on battery status.

It just said that the update was paused.

It will also say that it's paused if you're busy using it when it wants to update; just plug it in and leave it sit for awhile.

I would restart the phone and try the download again.

Remember, the update happens in 3 steps. The inactive slot is updated first. Then if there were no problems, you're switched to that slot as active, and the formerly active slot is updated. So, GSDer said, it could be that you're in the middle of something that makes the phone unable to switch slots. Restarting might switch them and allow the update to continue. (You can't be "doing something" during a restart.)
