Has anyone gotten their LG in water, like fully submersed? It's pool season but I'm kinda scared to.
I believe some have if you read through threads. Honestly it's not something I would do.... If I had a phone with water resistance I would only want it for exposure to the elements and accidental dunks.

Agreed. The only time I ever use my phone "against nature" is in light rain - and that's without having any kind of water resistance.
Yes I have.. It's still weird.. I filmed myself putting it under the faucet too

Submerged mine yesterday. Mainly to test, no pics or anything.
If a phone has an IP rating I at least slightly test it when I first get it so I can swap it if it is a dud. learned this the hard way once when a phone I had, had bad seals and didn't last a partial submersion.
How can you swap it if water damage is not covered under warranty?

If you're within the return period most places wont check for water damage. Whether thats right or wrong is another conversation.
Just don't try that with Samsung. When my S7 Active failed after putting it in a cup of water they essentially told me tough and to pay the $270 to get it fixed. A week later the news stories broke about defective seals and they had to warranty the phone. Had that not happened I was screwed. At&t wouldnt help at all until they got the memo from Samsung and even then they tried to deny me service. The 2 times I have had water damage from one of my "tests" I legitimately told them exactly what happened. How much water it was in and for how long. Never once had an issue whether I was dealing directly with manufacturer or carrier(once for each)

Water is a trigger word for most electronic companies. You say water, they say no.
You're absolutely right. Samsung will not honor water damage. This is one of the main reasons I've stayed away from them ever since. I have insurance on the phone but I'm still being a chicken![]()
