If you are not able to get the update via OTA, and you really want it then you can try the firmware finder app from Google Play. It isn't the easiest to use but it did work for me after some hours.

And same day another OTA update. To android 11/6/2017 Sec update. And, Kernal version4.1.18 11/13/2017. Two OTA updates in one day.

Maybe they want to show that they keep their devices up to date when they make the big push for phones next year

For this phone, since it's a lower end phone then oreo by q2 18 would be acceptable

Yes, there are a lot of options when it comes out. It will be available on 6x just before "p" comes out.
