Is this recent, a new phone, a new car, how did we end up here?
You are posting in the P10 threads, and not ask silly questions, but you only mentioned that your mother has this model. What phone do you have? I might have expected if they were the same you'd say something to give it away like "we have the same..." or something but you don't so I have to ask.
When you say pop-up do you mean on the car's screen or on your device?
Have you tried connecting with your mother's vehicle to see if yours also works in her vehicle?
Have you made any AA settings changes?
I really can't offer you too much advice without knowing more but if you think it could be a setting in the AA app you could reset them and see if this functionality returns. Go to Settings>Applications>Android Auto>Storage>Clear data. This will default any setting that had been changed. Beyond that I really can't say without more information. I wouldn't think it would have much to do with car brand if anything it's likely a setting or not possible. I could see where messages might be, not sure of a better way to say this, but they might be suppressed to reduce distracted driving. In my Toyota I don't even get album art unless I'm in park. You read that right, not a video, just the album art picture. As soon as I put it in park, picture pops right up. We'd need more information to go that deep in on this.
