I loved the idea of the aura glow, but not the reality of it, and by that I mean reflecting whatever colors are around it. if it was always like they showed in the pictures then I would have gotten it, but the color changing due to surroundings put me off.
My first was aura glow (faulty device), and I completely agree. In the BestBuy lighting, for example, you see the entire spectrum of color and the whole thing looks gorgeous. Very much like the YouTube videos. In reality, in my day-to-day life it was always a mirror like silver with tiny fractions of the warmest tones (yellow/orange/red), occasionally adding some other color but just nothing like I'd come to expect. It wasn't for me.
Luckily, when I went to exchange they only had black and blue so at that point I was thrilled to get the blue. What I'll say about it to someone debating - do not expect it to match that beautiful blue s-pen. I did initially and was kind of surprised to realize it's a different color. It's a bit softer than I expected in person, in part because it still has a mirror like effect from the glass and all, but when any light hits right it's this glowing bright blue which I love. It can also look a bit deeper. That "aura" effect is apparent on it in a different way but still makes the color unique. (The bright blue isn't an issue for me at work - color matches the company! I've already been asked if it was intentional and asked to rock our pop socket on the back. I may get the leather case for work just to soften the reflect and still highlight the bold color choice.)
Personally I do love a black phone, but this years was disappointing because it wasn't black-black. It looked navy in some light and didn't quite match up to black cases, for example. I just figured rather than look like I got a navy, why not go all in for blue.

I might've gone white this year had it been an option when I did my exchange, I heard it's less reflective and fingerprint prone. My mother loves that her black phone isn't a pure black though, she likes whatever this years "aura" thing has going for even the black color.
